Meanwhile, the Chery Omoda E5 EV, priced at RM 146,800, is designed for Malaysia's growing electric vehicle market. Powered by a front-mounted electric motor producing 201 PS and 340 Nm of torque, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds. It features a 61 kWh Blade lithium iron phosphate battery with a 430 km range. The Omoda E5 supports AC charging at 9.9 kW and DC fast charging up to 80 kW, recharging from 30% to 80% in 28 minutes. Another exciting addition to Chery's lineup is on the horizon: the Chery Tiggo 2 Pro, slated for launch at the end of the year. This petite SUV measures approximately 4.2 meters in length, 1.76 meters in width, and 1.57 meters in height, making it a perfect subcompact competitor to the likes of the Perodua Ativa, Honda WR-V, and Mazda CX-3.
The Tiggo 2 Pro typically features a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine, delivering around 105 horsepower and 135 Nm of torque. It is available with either a manual or automatic transmission. Given the market preference, it is likely that the Malaysian variant will come with an automatic transmission.
