Chery Malaysia expands further in East Malaysia – Opens 4 new outlets in Sabah & Sarawak

KUALA LUMPUR:  Chery Malaysia continues to strengthen its presence in East Malaysia with the announcement of four new showrooms across Sabah and Sarawak.

This latest expansion highlights Chery's ongoing commitment to increasing accessibility and enhancing customer service for its rapidly growing customer base in Borneo.

Michael Chew, Vice President of Chery Malaysia, emphasized the company's expansion plans, saying, "Chery is slowly expanding its presence here in Borneo and we hope to cover more locations across both the states. We are eager to grow our network further across Malaysia, providing more Malaysians with the opportunity to own Chery’s range of vehicles."

Chew further assured customers of top-notch aftersales support: "With the new outlets in Sabah and Sarawak, we are confident that our Chery customers in the region will continue to receive the best in sales, service, and aftersales support."

The new Chery Sandakan 1S showroom is operated by dealer-partner Universal Chery Sdn Bhd and located at Taman Wemin, Batu 5, Jalan Labuk, Sandakan. Its operational hours are from 8 am to 6 pm (Monday to Friday), 8 am to 4 pm (Saturday), and 10 am to 3 pm (Sundays and public holidays).

In Tawau, Chery has opened a 3S outlet at Taman Berkeley, Batu 1, Jalan Apas, managed by Universal Chery Sdn Bhd. The 682-square-meter facility offers comprehensive services including sales, customer care, and vehicle maintenance with four dedicated service bays manned by professionally trained Chery technicians.

Its showroom hours are 8:30 am to 6 pm (Monday to Friday), 8 am to 4 pm (Saturday), and 10 am to 3 pm (Sundays and public holidays), while the service centre operates from 8 am to 5 pm (Monday to Friday) and 8 am to 3 pm on Saturday, remaining closed on Sundays and public holidays.

In Sarawak, the Chery Miri 3S centre, managed by MP Advanced Automotive Sdn Bhd, spans an impressive 892 square meters and is located at Jalan Miri By Pass.

It offers comprehensive vehicle sales, customer support, and servicing with four well-equipped service bays. Operating hours are from 8 am to 5 pm (Monday to Saturday), with showroom hours on Sundays and public holidays from 9 am to 3 pm. The service centre remains closed on Sundays and public holidays.

Enhancing customer convenience further, Chery has also opened a boutique showroom at Imago Mall in Kota Kinabalu, operated by Universal Chery Sdn Bhd. Located on the mall's Ground Floor (Lot G-74-1), this showroom allows customers to conveniently browse, test-drive, and book vehicles while enjoying their time at the shopping mall.

"We understand that modern families today often spend their weekends shopping, enjoying leisure activities, and spending quality time together. This showroom aims to seamlessly integrate car shopping into their daily activities," Chew added.

Following these latest openings, Chery now boasts four showrooms and two service centres in Sabah, while Sarawak has two showrooms, two service centres, and dedicated body and paint services.

Nationally, Chery Malaysia operates 56 outlets, with plans to increase this number to 65 by 2025.
