Chery Malaysia celebrates 10,000th vehicle milestone

KUALA LUMPUR: Chery Auto Malaysia entered into a partnership with Inokom Corporation in May 2023, and finally, the two celebrated a significant milestone: the rollout of the 10,000th unit.

It took nearly a year since the union to achieve this milestone, and it surely is a testament to Chery’s commitment to excellence and growth in the Malaysian automotive industry. The celebrated unit was the manufacturer of Inokom’s state-of-the-art 200-acre facility in Kulim, Kedah, which commenced operations just eight months back.

Chery’s Inokom plant seems crucial in its expansion journey in the country. We say so because -

• It is the same facility where the first batch of the locally assembled Tiggo 8 Pro and Omoda 5 was made and were delivered in August 2023
• The assembly of the soon-to-be-launched Tiggo 7 Pro will commence this month at the Inokom facility
• Automaker’s latest electric car, the Omoda E5 will very soon join the production line-up here
• Chery has introduced a second assembly line at the facility to meet the growing market demand. The new introduction will further enhance the operations, increase production efficiency, boost assembly capacity and uphold higher standards of quality control for both its product and service

Present at the launch of the new production line at the Inokom facility was Chery Auto Malaysia’s President, Leo Chen. He said that the company is dedicated to delivering high-quality, safe, and reliable products to the Malaysian market and is “committed to maintaining strict quality assurance processes as we expand our operations here in Malaysia.”

On Chery’s exhilarating journey with Inokon, Chen said, “We want to continue offering the best driving and ownership experience to our customers."
