Chery flagship SUV launched in China, the Tiggo 9

KUALA LUMPUR: Chery is busy presenting new cars one after the other which has kept the Chinese automaker in the news. After updating the Tiggo 3X, the automaker has now introduced the all-new Tiggo 9 SUV.

The Chery Tiggo 9 is offered in two seating configurations - 5- and 7-seater. The two are priced at -

5-seater Tiggo 9	CNY 152,900 (~RM 99k)
7-seater Tiggo 9	CNY 203,900 (~RM 132k)

As of now, the all-new Chery Tiggo 9 is the brand’s most expensive model.

Powertrain

Powering the Chery Tiggo 9 SUV is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder GDI turbocharged petrol engine generating a maximum power of 261 PS along with a peak torque of 400 Nm.

The drive is sent to the wheels either via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic or an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

In the future, Chery is expected to introduce an electrified version of the Tiggo 9.

Exterior

The Tiggo 9 SUV showcases the brand’s current design language, however, it does not look as out there as the Omoda 5.
