KUALA LUMPUR: It was only a few months back that Bentley introduced the Bentayga’s extended wheelbase (EWB) limousine variant. And now the automaker has released more information about the model that points towards the new, ultra-luxurious, high-tech Airline Seat.

Bentley Airline Seat is claimed by the automaker to be the world’s most advanced and comfortable car rear seat. It features 12 e-motors, 177 individual pressure points, and passengers' temperature & humidity measuring sensors.

Today we’ll be discussing these technologically advanced auto seats in detail, so let's get started -

• This particular rear seat features an auto climate sensing system. So, once the passenger sets the desired temperature, the former senses surface humidity and temperature with an accuracy of 0.1°C every 25 milliseconds. Thus determining the application of heat, ventilation, or both to maintain passengers' optimum thermal comfort
• Superfine rear accommodation is given thanks to 22 adjustments on offer
• The advanced posture adjustment technology features 12 silent motors that automatically make micro-adjustments to the passenger's seating position & pressure points. It is all possible via an algorithm developed by Bentley together with a chiropractor

• The Seat Motion & Wellbeing ECU manages the motors and three intelligent pneumatic valve electronic control units. It can apply 177 individual pressure changes across six fully independent pressure zones for a period of 3 hours, thus enchanting the comfort and minimising fatigue
• The seat surface changes shape subtly over time, thus ensuring no body part endures pressure fatigue for a long period of time

• Further improving passengers' comfort levels are added cushions, backrest bolster adjustment, electric headrest height adjustment, cushion extension, and a deployable footrest
• Bentley has also tuned the rear seat with a ‘VIP mode’ that can be pressed by the rear passenger to move the front passenger seat forward

Overall, the Bentley Bentayga EWB Airline Seat demonstrates a new epitome of rear passenger wellbeing in the automobile industry. Also, the initial customer uptake of 50% for the system is quite impressive and encouraging.
