PRO-NET unveils specifications for Proton e.MAS 7 - Prime vs Premium breakdown

KUALA LUMPUR: Today, PRO-NET, a subsidiary of Proton and the official steward of the e.MAS brand, has opened bookings for their debut electric vehicle, the Proton e.MAS 7, while also unveiling its technical specifications. This marks an exciting milestone in the brand’s journey toward electrification.

How to Book the Proton e.MAS 7

Booking the Proton e.MAS 7 is simple through the newly launched e.MAS App, providing a streamlined experience. As usual, the booking cost is a lowly RM500.

Early Bird Offer and e.MAS App

To encourage early adopters, PRO-NET offers the Proton e.MAS 7 at an estimated price of RM120,000, ensuring advanced EV technology is within reach. The Pioneer Privilege Deal adds an RM500 rebate and a RM1,000 gift pack for early buyers, valid until the official grand launch.

Additionally, PRO-NET launched the Proton e.MAS App, a comprehensive super app enhancing user experience from booking to ownership. This app simplifies the process of scheduling services, managing bookings, and accessing a broad EV charging network across Malaysia.

This model will be available in two variants: the Proton e.MAS 7 Prime and the Proton e.MAS 7 Premium, offering a mix of affordability and premium features for the discerning buyer.

Dimensions and Weight

Both variants share identical external dimensions, measuring 4,615 mm in length, 1,901 mm in width, and 1,670 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm, ensuring a spacious interior. The Prime model weighs 1,662 kg, while the Premium is slightly heavier at 1,765 kg due to additional features. The rear trunk space is an ample 461 liters, expanding to 1,877 liters when the second-row seats are fully folded.

Battery and Charging

The e.MAS 7 comes equipped with an Aegis Short Blade Battery. The Prime variant features a 49.52 kWh battery that delivers a 345 km range (WLTP) or 410 km (NEDC). Meanwhile, the Premium version boasts a larger 60.22 kWh battery, offering a 410 km WLTP range and 470 km NEDC range.

In terms of charging, the Prime variant supports 80 kW DC fast charging, with the Premium increasing to 100 kW. Both variants can charge from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes using a DC charger, while AC charging takes 4.9 hours for the Prime and 6.1 hours for the Premium.

Performance

Under the hood, the e.MAS 7 is powered by a 12-in-1 Electric Drive System. Both variants deliver 160 kW of maximum power and 320 Nm of torque, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds, with a top speed of 175 km/h.

Chassis, wheels and tyres

The Prime model rides on 225/55 R18 Giti tires, while the Premium comes with 235/50 R19 Goodyear tires for enhanced road grip. Both variants feature McPherson Independent Suspension in the front and Multilink Independent Suspension in the rear, providing a comfortable and stable ride.

Exterior Features

The Prime model includes essential features like LED headlights, Follow-me Home Light, and Active High Beam Control, with concealed door handles adding a sleek aesthetic. The Premium variant adds luxury touches like a Panoramic Sunroof with Sunshade, a Power Tailgate, and an Active Grille Shutter for improved aerodynamics.

Interior and Comfort

Inside, both models come with a 10.2-inch LCD instrument cluster and a multi-function antibacterial steering wheel. The Premium model offers more comfort with a front passenger 4-way adjustable powered seat, front ventilated seats, and 256-color ambient lighting.

It also boasts a windshield Head-Up Display (HUD) and a 16-speaker audio system compared to the Prime’s 6-speaker setup.

Infotainment

Both models are equipped with the Flyme Auto infotainment system, powered by a 7nm automotive-grade chip and controlled through a 15.4-inch 2.5K touchscreen display.

Advanced Safety and ADAS

Safety is a top priority for the e.MAS 7, with both variants equipped with front airbags, front side airbags, and side curtain airbags for full passenger protection. Both also feature Auto Hold and a suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including:
