BMW X1 SUV gets a new PHEV variant in Thailand

KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Thailand has expanded the X1 lineup by adding a new PHEV variant, called the X1 xDrive30e M Sport.

Let us discuss the all-new BMW X1 xDrive30e M Sport in detail -

Price

The Thai-spec model retails for THB 2,799,000 (approx.RM 37,359). However, the Malaysian-spec model is expected to cost much less.

Exterior

The new BMW looks very similar to the iX1 from the outside and includes features like -

• 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels
• Full LED headlights
• Automatic high beam assistant
• Panoramic sunroof
• M Sport package

Cabin

As expected the latest BMW offers a super comfortable environment to the driver and passengers. The car is equipped with several amenities including -

• Heated front seats
• A BMW ConnectedDrive system
• A Harmon Kardon audio system
• A head-up display (HUD)

Powertrain

Powering the new X1 PHEV variant is a 1.5-litre three-cylinder twin-turbo petrol engine paired with an e-motor. Together the two produce a maximum power of 326 hp along with a peak torque of 477 Nm.

The electric motor is fueled by a 16.3 kWh battery which offers a range of up to 83 km. The drive is sent to the wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

Performance

The car completes a century sprint in just 5.6 seconds and achieves a top speed of 205 kmph.

BMW X1 in Malaysia

Currently, the BMW X1 range in the market includes a sole variant, called the iX1 xDrive30. As for the petrol and PHEV trims, we are still waiting for them to grace the local lineup.
