BMW Malaysia launches most powerful M model, the XM Label Red

KUALA LUMPUR: Finally, we have the BMW XM Label Red here in Malaysia! Labeled as the most powerful M model offered by the automaker, the XM Label Red is offered as a fully imported unit coming all the way from the USA; BMW Group’s Spartanburg facility to be precise.

BMW Group Malaysia Managing Director, Hans de Visser said, “With the New BMW XM Label Red, we are presenting to our customers here – the most powerful BMW production vehicle ever built! The new iteration of the BMW XM brings more exhilaration and customisation for customers who place luxury-oriented comfort and dynamic performance above all else.”

“With a powerful V8 engine at its core, yet superbly efficient with the BMW M Hybrid system, we are confident that this new Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) will not only turn heads on the road but also shift perspective on electrified performance-oriented vehicles in Malaysia,” he added.

Price

The BMW XM Label Red retails for RM 1,615,800 (on the road without insurance). Part of the package is a full BMW Group Malaysia Premium Ownership experience which includes -

Exterior

BMW Malaysia is offering the XM Label Red in two striking hues - the Toronto Red color and the Shadowline, which can be seen on the car’s accent strip including the kidney grille, window trims, and shoulder line. In addition, customers can choose between 50 custom paint options.

Further adding to the BMW’s latest Sporty Activity Vehicle’s look are two-wheel choices including -

• A bicolour 22-inch M light alloy wheels with red accents with the Toronto Red accent strip
• A bicolour black accent 23-inch M light alloy wheels in style Star-Spoke with the Shadowline accent strip

Interior

The cabin continues to look as striking as the exterior, thanks to the bicolour motifs which feature aval BMW M equipment with red accents. For instance -

• M multifunction seats with diamond-shaped texture
• Knee pads
• An M gear selector lever
• An M-specific control panel on the center console
• A BMW Curved Display
• A BMW head-up display

Other inclusions are M leather steering in Black Chrome along with M buttons and gearshift paddles with carbon inlays with plus and minus signs in red.

Powertrain

Powering the new BMW XM Label Red is a 585 hp/750 Nm 4.4-litre M TwinPower Turbo V8 engine along with an electric motor (197 hp and 280 Nm); together the two generate a maximum power output of 748 hp and 1000 Nm of torque.

The drive is sent to all-four wheels via an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission along with an M xDrive all-wheel drive (AWD) system.

Juicing up the e-motor is a 25.7 kWh battery that offers a range of up to 83 km. As for charging, there is an AC charger that takes the battery from 0 to 100% charge in around 4.25 hours.
