BMW iX1 teased, will offer up to 438 km range
KUALA LUMPUR: After introducing the electric version of the X3 in the form of iX3, BMW is now heading up for the zero-emission equivalent of its other popular model X1, dubbed as iX1.

Talking about the latter, the subcompact luxury crossover is currently in the works and as per the reports, it will underpin the brand’s FAAR (Frontantriebsarchitektur) platform that not only supports internal combustion engine, and plug-in hybrid but also pure electric drivetrains setups.
Oliver Zipse, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG said, "Starting at the end of the year, the new iX1 will be our fully electric offer to customers in the high-volume premium compact segment. The X1 also highlights the potential of modern, flexible BMW architectures with its diversity of different drivetrains - just as you have experienced with iX and i4."
While hiding the full exact powertrain details, the automaker stated the BMW iX1 range will lie between 413-438 km (as per WLTP standards) on a single charge. It will sport the latest eDrive technology.
Moving to the BMW iX1 teaser, the sole picture reveals significant design highlights of the upcoming EV such as a closed-off grille featuring blue accents, a bold lower apron with prominent corner intakes, and iX3-like headlights. The latter also sports an angular daytime running light signature.
When it comes to the BMW iX1 price, we expect the electric crossover to be significantly dearer than the current X1. As for reference, the price for the latter starts at RM 194,738 and goes all the way up to RM 216,780 in the local market.
