Audi Q4 E-Tron Sportback Concept - What all it offers?
KUALA LUMPUR: The Audi E-Tron lineup is growing with every passing minute. First came the E-Tron crossover, next is the E-Tron GT sedan that will hit the market soon, and now the German automaker is under plans to add another electric option to the kit - the Q4 E-Tron Sportback. At the moment, it is amongst us in concept form and will most probably go on sale next year. Once launched, it will become Audi’s seventh EV. Do you know, Audi has promised 20 new electric vehicles by 2025. So, embrace yourself for a long list of EVs in the years to come.
How does the Q4 E-Tron Sportsback concept look?
On the outside, the Q4 concept showcases a sporty design both at the front and rear. The faux grille at the front with metal inserts seems to be taken from the E-Tron crossover. The sharp LED headlights are nearly identical to the Q4 concept; however, in the production version, we expect something close to the E-Tron light fittings. The LED light bar at the rear is seen in most Audi vehicles.
The new sleek design improves the car’s overall drag coefficient by 0.26-0.01 compared to the traditional Q4 E-Tron. The concept stands on the VWs Modular Electrification Platform.
What’s on the inside?
Audi claims the Q4 E-Tron Sportback to offer one of the most spacious cabins in the class. The 2,774 mm wheelbase and flat battery pack ensure increased head- and legroom, both at the front and rear compared to its competitors. On the feature front, it includes - a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a massive digital instrument cluster. Going sustainable, Audi has used recycled material on the floorboards and seats. Also, chrome plating forgoes several elements like chrome plating.
What powers the Q4 E-Tron Sportback?
Powering the Q4 E-Tron Sportback is an 82 kW h battery pack along with two electric motors (one each on both axles). The one on the front produces 100 hp of power, and the rear motor churns out 201 hp. The combined output of 301 hp is sent to all for wheels. With the given power, the Q4 E-Tron Sportback can hit the 100 kmph mark in 6.3 seconds, and it has to top speed of 180 kmph.
The car gets 80 percent charge in just 30 minutes and it jas a maximum charging capacity of 125 kW.
