Meet the world’s most powerful luxury SUV, the Aston Martin DBX707
KUALA LUMPUR: Aston Martin is known for its luxurious and fast cars and the recent masterpiece of the British carmaker is the DBX707. The new model is an upgraded version of the standard DBX that comes with a raft of mechanical upgrades making it an ultra-high-performance SUV. It competes against the likes of the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63, Lamborghini Urus, Bentley Bentayga Speed.

Under the hood of this super-SUV lies the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine available on the standard model, which has been uprated to produce a beefy power output of 707 PS and a peak torque of 900 Nm. The SUV gets its ‘707’ designation with this output level.
As compared to the DBX, it is 157 PS and 200 Nm higher thanks to the new ball bearing turbochargers of the engine and a new 9-speed wet clutch automatic gearbox. With this, the DBX707 hits the century sprint in just 3.3 seconds, 1.2 seconds earlier than the DBX. The top speed is rated at 319 kmph.
Besides power gains, the Aston Martin DBX707 also gets some technical improvements like a new electronic limited-slip rear differential calibrated with a shorter final drive ratio to help sprinting prowess. It is paired with a recalibrated chassis offering the SUV sportscar-like cornering agility.
When it comes to suspension, Aston Martin engineers retained the air suspension but upgraded it with a new damper valve and a recalibrated dynamic spring volume switch. Helping the SUV stop are carbon-ceramic brakes available with some improvements in hydraulic sizing and booster tune.
The automaker also tweaked the electronic power steering for a better feel, and the eARC system to reduce body roll. A new “Race Start” mode is also added to the kit.
Coming to the visual differences, here the new Aston Martin DBX707 gets the largest front grille available on any Aston Martin car. It is also equipped with new LED DRLs, a muscular front bumper, a sporty front splitter, and large air intakes. The aggressive rear-end of performance SUV has a bunch of meaner-looking quad exhausts and a meaty diffuser. Sporty side skirts and new 23-inch wheels are the main attractions of the side profile.
Inside, the sporty quotient of the SUV remains high with a revised lower centre console and sports seats.
The production of the new Aston Martin DBX707 will kickstart in the first quarter of 2022 with deliveries starting in the second quarter.
