All-new Audi Q5 Sportback: All you need to know

Audi first introduced the Q5 Sportback in September 2021, and it arrived as a more stylish alternative to the regular Q5. In Malaysia, it arrived quickly after the facelifted Q5 launch in August last year, and since then, it has been maintaining a strong foot in the segment. So, today we thought of shedding some light on this relatively new Audi and giving prospective buyers a good look at this worthwhile buy.

Price & Variant

The 2022 Audi Q5 Sportback in Malaysia is offered in one variant option, an S line 2.0 TFSI Quattro. As for its price tag with a 50 percent SST exemption, it will cost a buyer RM 404,878, and without it, the price will hike to RM 419,900.

A 5-year, unlimited-mileage warranty accompanies each purchase.

Engine

The 2022 Audi Q5 Sportback is powered by a 1,984cc four-cylinder turbo petrol engine with a 12-volt mild hybrid system. The setup generates a maximum power output of 249 hp at 5,000 to 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 370 Nm at 1,600 to 4,500 rpm.

The drive is to the wheels via Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system and a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch gearbox.

Performance

With the above mechanical configurations, the Q5 Sportback completes the century sprint in 6.1 seconds after hitting a top speed of 240 kmph. The combined fuel economy for the Q5 Sportback S line rests at 12.5 kmpl, which is impressive for its power.

Overall, the 2022 Audi Q5 Sportback combines the powerful performance of an SUV with everyday usability.

The wheels at both ends (front and rear) are fitted with Ventilated discs with Anti-lock Braking System as standard. A smooth ride is assured by a multi-link suspension, front and rear.

The other technology and assistance systems improving the ride quality are - Audi drive select with efficiency mode, cruise control, convenience key, suspension with damper control, hold assist, tyre pressure loss indicator, collapsible spare wheel, and electrically operated tailgate.
