KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz has introduced the all-new G-Class globally, marking the most substantial update to this iconic model in six years. This update brings a blend of new technology, refined styling, and mild-hybrid technology for the first time in the G-Class lineup.

The new G-Class boasts a subtly modified exterior, incorporating several notable enhancements. These include a redesigned radiator grille adorned with four horizontal louvres, a departure from the previous three, along with revamped bumpers at the front and rear. Additionally, the G-Class now features new A-pillar cladding, a roof-edge spoiler lip, and upgraded insulation materials, all of which contribute to enhanced aerodynamics and acoustic comfort.
The cabin has also undergone significant upgrades, offering a more connected driving experience. It gains the latest MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system, coupled with dual 12.3-inch driver and infotainment displays featuring touch control, wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto connectivity, and intuitive control.
Taking the off-road experience to the next level is a redesigned off-road control centre that offers convenient access to the off-road cockpit and controls for the three mechanical differential locks. Additionally, an innovative "transparent bonnet" feature enhances the vehicle's versatility and capabilities.
The legendary G-Class also gets advanced safety and assistance systems for the first time, providing enhanced support to drivers. These include - Active Emergency Stop Assist, Active Steering Assist, and route-based speed assistance.
The automaker has also expanded the MANUFAKTUR range to offer extensive customization options for both the exterior and interior, allowing customers to personalise their G-Class according to their preferences and style.
The new Mercedes-Benz G-Class comes with an array of fully electrified engine options. The G500 model now features a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine with twin turbochargers, replacing the previous M176 4.0-litre V8, while the Mercedes-AMG G63 is equipped with the AMG M177 4.0-liter V8 bi-turbo engine.
These engines benefit from integrated starter generators and 48-volt systems, providing an extra 20 PS of output and 200 Nm of torque for short durations. The G500 delivers 449 PS and 560 Nm of torque, whereas the G63 offers an impressive 585 PS and 850 Nm of torque. Both engine variants are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
