All-new 2024 Honda HR-V facelift breaks cover in Japan
KUALA LUMPUR: Honda has recently unveiled the refreshed iteration of the second-gen Vezel in Japan, known as the HR-V in the local market. This updated model brings subtle changes to the popular B-segment crossover's design, interior, and powertrain, improving its overall attractiveness and performance.

The all-new 2024 Honda Vezel will go on sale in Japan in mid-2024, with pricing details yet to be revealed.On the exterior, the new Vezel/HR-V boasts minor design tweaks, including a slightly wider front grille, updated front bumper, and new projector LED headlights with adaptive high beam function. The SUV also gains a new pair of tail lights featuring a slim red bar. The automaker has also improved the functionality of the Honda Connect app, allowing owners to remotely open the vehicle's tailgate using their smartphones.
Honda Japan has also expanded the Vezel colour palette with the addition of new striking options such as Botanical Green, Seabed Blue, and Slate Gray shades.
Inside the cabin, the overall layout and ergonomics remain familiar with small tweaks contributing to a more user-friendly and organised interior. The centre console has undergone a redesign and is now equipped with upper and lower tray cubby trays.
Also part of the upgrade is two new styling packages - the HuNT and PLaY offering distinct design elements and customisation options to suit varying preferences and lifestyles.
In terms of safety and driver assistance, the 2024 Vezel now features an upgraded Honda Sensing ADAS suite. This includes three new features: Traffic Jam Assist for smoother driving in congested areas, Adaptive Driving Beam for enhanced visibility during night driving, and Sudden Acceleration Suppression Function for added safety during unexpected acceleration scenarios.
Honda has also made refinements to the e:HEV dual-motor hybrid powertrain making it more responsive. While exact modifications haven't been specified, the powertrain setup is likely to stay the same, featuring a 105 PS/127 Nm 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine paired with a 131 PS/253 Nm electric motor.
