KUALA LUMPUR: Globally revealed in January, the 2023 Mazda 2 facelift has now made its way to the Thai market in both sedan and hatchback body styles. Pricing for the updated version ranges from THB 599,000 (approx. RM 79,568) to THB 830,000 (approx. RM 110,253).

- Both hatchback and sedan variants of the car come in two exterior styling packs viz. Sport Design and New Wave Design
- The Sport Design features an exclusive honeycomb pattern on the grille, 16-inch alloy wheels, and black roof and mirrors
- The New Wave Design, on the other hand, sports a partly blocked grille sprayed with body colour. Among the other distinctive elements are 15-inch wheels
- The Mazda 2 hatchback is also offered in Rookie Drive and Clap Pop special editions
- Inside the cabin, the dashboard design remains identical as the predecessor model with new coloured panels vibing with the exterior colour shade
- The size of the infotainment display has increased to eight-inch now, however, it is powered by the same Mazda Connect software as earlier
- Also, parts of the equipment kit are LED headlamps, daytime running lights, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, smart keyless entry, push button start, automatic air conditioning system, six-way electrically-adjustable driver’s seat, wireless charging, and the i-Activsense suite of advanced driver-assistance systems
- The two engine available options include - 1.3-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5-litre turbo diesel. The former generates a maximum power of 93 hp and a peak torque of 123 Nm while the latter is good for making 105 hp and 250 Nm
- Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission
