The new Mitsubishi Xpander facelift is expected to launch soon in Malaysia.The official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in Malaysia, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia, celebrated this momentous occasion with the handover of the 40,000th Xpander to its new owner.
The lucky recipient of the milestone vehicle is Puan Zaty Ewany, a teacher and mother of five from Selising Pasir Puteh, Kelantan. As part of the celebration, she received a travel voucher worth RM 10,000. The handover ceremony was held at RIF Auto Sdn Bhd, which is one of the brand's local authorized dealerships. This event wrapped up a month-long campaign celebrating the MPV’s success in the Malaysian market.
Speaking at the event, Shinya Ikeda, CEO of MMM said, “When we launched the XPANDER in late 2020, our vision was to create a vehicle that not only meets the diverse needs of our customers but also enriches our owner’s lifestyle. I want to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to our loyal customers, MMM’s business partners, and media friends whose trust and support have been the cornerstone of our success.”
Touted as Malaysia’s No. 1 non-national MPV, the Xpander is offered in a single variant, priced at RM 100,980. It is powered by a 1.5-litre MIVEC naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine, churning out 105 PS of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and 141 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. Sending power to the front wheels is a four-speed automatic gearbox.
Feature kit includes - Auto LED with welcome light, & coming home light system, DRLs, LED tail lights, 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels, a 4.2-inch multi-info display, a 9-inch infotainment unit, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leather seats, keyless entry, push-button start, a 6-speaker audio system, a 360-degree camera system, dual front SRS airbags, and a front-facing dash cam.
The ongoing Mitsubishi Xpander was launched in late 2020, and now the automaker is set to introduce an upgraded version of the MPV. The Xpander facelift has recently been spotted on a trailer heading to a local dealership, hinting at its imminent arrival.
