Another headline feature is the C40's battery pack, now boasting 82kWh up from 78kWh, paired with an increased 200kW max input for DC charging. This means drivers can now juice up from 10 to 80 per cent in just under 27 minutes.

Volvo's commitment to electrification shines through with the C40's extended range, offering an extra 100km over its predecessor, reinforcing the company's ambition to transition fully to electric by 2030.

Javier Varela, Volvo Cars’ COO and deputy CEO, emphasized the significance of range and charging speed enhancements in meeting customer expectations.

The C40 Recharge Pure Electric isn't just any electric vehicle; it's Volvo's first designed from the ground up to be electric, merging sleek aesthetics with state-of-the-art safety in a compact, versatile package. With its introduction in late 2022, the C40 has quickly become a staple in Malaysia's luxury EV scene, and the 2024 updates further cement its status.

Highlights of the 2024 C40 Recharge Pure Electric include:

    • Advanced pixel headlights that adaptively manage lighting to enhance visibility without dazzling others on the road.
    • Stylish new 19-inch alloy wheels designed to cut through air more efficiently.
    • The addition of Vapour Grey to the color palette, joining Onyx Black, Crystal White, Fjord Blue, and Sage Green.

To sweeten the deal, Volvo Car Malaysia is offering an RM10,000 instant rebate for online orders placed by March 31, 2024, making now the perfect time to embrace the future of driving with Volvo's electrified innovation.

Volvo is also rumored to be introducing their entry-level EV SUV this year, the EX30. This eagerly anticipated vehicle is expected to redefine the standards of compact electric mobility for Volvo, combining the Swedish automaker's commitment to provide an affordable, safe and sustainable EV with the latest in electric vehicle technology.

With a power output starting from 250 PS, the EX30 aims to deliver an exhilarating driving experience without sacrificing environmental responsibility. The SUV is anticipated to offer a commendable range, potentially surpassing 400 kilometers on a single charge, according to WLTP standards.

Its combination of performance, efficiency, and Volvo's iconic design makes the EX30 a highly awaited model for both automotive enthusiasts and eco-conscious consumers.

Those in the market for a new EV may find the Volvo EX30 worth the wait, as it promises to bring a new level of affordability and luxury to the entry-level electric SUV segment.
