Toyota has introduced the facelifted version of its seven-seater SUV, the Rush, in Indonesia. The Toyota Rush, which was discontinued in Malaysia at the beginning of this year due to weak sales numbers, holds significant importance for the brand in the Indonesian market.

The all-new Rush GR Sport is offered in two variants - MT and AT, priced at IDR 299,750,000 (RM 89,601) and IDR 310,450,000 (RM 92,799).The Rush dominated mid-size SUV sales last year, with 39,340 units sold, commanding a 22.83% market share. Notably, the GR Sport variant of the SUV contributed significantly to this figure, comprising 83.1% of the total sales with 32,693 units sold. Responding to customer enthusiasm, P.T. Toyota Astra Motor has provided an upgrade to the GR Sport variant for the model year 2024.

The exterior undergoes a significant makeover, with notable enhancements to its front end. It gains a new black glossy front grille trim and a restyled black glossy front bumper spoiler, offering the SUV's more rugged character.
Several other exterior elements also received the black treatment, including the black outer mirrors, black door handles, black side body bolding, and black glossy overfender. Also part of the kit are new two-tone alloy wheels and a new glossy black rear bumper spoiler, contributing to its sportier and elegant aesthetics.
The 2024 Toyota Rush GR Sport colour palette includes five options - White, Silver Mica Metallic, Black Metallic, Bronze Mica Metallic, and Dark Red Mica Metallic.
Inside the cabin, the new Rush GR Sport offers a premium and comfortable atmosphere with its black colour theme featuring a sportier dashboard, new black interior panels, and new black soft pad panels. This luxurious ambience is complemented by a new 9-inch Audio Screen that comes with an opening GR logo and smartphone connectivity. Further enhancing the cabin's entertainment and sporty allure are the GR steering wheel, GR floor mats, and GR headrest cover.
Under the hood, the Toyota SUV remains unchanged with the 1.5-litre inline-4 naturally-aspirated engine producing a maximum power of 105 PS at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 136 Nm. The power is sent to the rear wheels either via a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic gearbox.
As for safety, the Toyota Rush still packs basic gears with no advanced systems on board. The list includes - six airbags, an anti-lock braking system, an emergency brake signal, electronic stability control, and hill start assist. However, it now comes equipped with a Portable Tire Inflator (12 V), available on both the GR Sport and type G models, providing added convenience for drivers.

The base-spec G MT and G AT retails at IDR 284,400,000 (RM 84,964) and IDR 295,200,000 (RM 88,191) respectively. The mentioned prices include a 3-year or 100,000 km warranty against manufacturing defects.
