2024 Suzuki Swift Concept makes global debut at Japan Mobility Show 2023

KUALA LUMPUR: Suzuki unveiled the all-new Swift Concept at the Japan Mobility Show 2023, which offers a glimpse of the upcoming fourth generation of the hatchback. The concept model gets styling updates inside and out along with a new mild-hybrid system under the bonnet. 

The key highlights of the all-new 2024 Suzuki Swift Concept are as follows - 

• The front fascia appears sharper, thanks to the redesigned grille and the new sleeker headlights with the LED daytime running lights that lie below the pronounced bonnet line
• The rear of the hatchback benefits from a revamped bumper, a new tailgate with a ‘Hybrid’ badge, and new tail lights kitted with C-shaped lighting elements 
• The new Suzuki Swift Concept also features a new design for the alloy wheels 

• Dimensionally, the car measures 3,860 mm in length, 1,695 mm in width, and 1,500 mm in height, and carries a wheelbase of 2,450 mm. The width, height, and wheelbase remain the same as the ongoing model, however, the length is down by 30 mm
• Getting inside, here we can find a brand-new layered dashboard with a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system positioned above the central air vents
• As for the air-conditioning system, the car now features buttons and toggle-like switches in place of the circular controls
• The concept model is also loaded with advanced driver assistance features such as Dual Sensor Brake Support, Adaptive High Beam System, and Driver Monitoring System

• Also part of the kit is a semi-digital instrument panel, push button start/stop, cruise control, automatic climate control, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, and hill hold assist
• In terms of mechanicals, the Suzuki Swift Concept is equipped with a hybrid setup comprising an inline-three petrol engine with VVT and an electric drive system. No details are yet available on the power numbers
• As for the transmission, there is a CVT unit driving the front wheels of the car

The Concept model proposes a “new value of the Swift which has been developed by always keeping the concept of “Drive&Feel”. With a shift from tangible consumption to experiential consumption, the Swift Concept not only provides “design” and “drive”, but also proposes new value of “have fun with car and daily lives,” says Suzuki.

The road-ready 2024 Suzuki Swift is expected to make its way to India sometime next year, with Malaysia likely to follow thereafter.
