2023 Toyota Vios showcases strong sales; 5000 booking in less than a month

KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota Motor made headway into the sedan segment with the recent launch of the 2023 Vios. The automaker opened the bookings for its much-anticipated car back in February. Thus allowing prospective buyers to order the car in advance.

At yesterday's launch event, Toyota Malaysia announced that it has received over 5,000 bookings for its latest sedan. Thus, reflecting a promising future for the car which will translate into good overall company sales.

UMW Toyota Motor President, Datuk Ravindran K at the Vios launch said, “The response for the All-New Toyota Vios has been phenomenal, with more than 5,000 orders to date made since we announced our order-taking on 24 February 2023. This is a testament to the popularity of the All-New Toyota Vios in the Malaysian market”.

He further added, “We are excited to kick off the year with the launch of the All-New Toyota Vios, which represents our commitment to providing our customers with the best quality vehicles and services. We look forward to a promising year ahead, full of opportunities to drive Malaysia’s economic growth and development.”

New Toyota Vios: A recap

The all-new Vios is offered in two variant options in the local market with prices starting from RM 89,600. The car packs new features and improvements that compensate for its higher price tag.

A few of the major improvements include - better mileage, more sophisticated exterior & interior design, lighter weight, and telescopic steering adjustment.

Powering the sedan is a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine generating a maximum power output of 106 hp along with a peak torque of 138 Nm. The drive is sent to the wheels via a new CVT gearbox.

A ‘Showroom Weekender’ event will be organized by UMW Toyota from March 24 to 26, 2023. Here, onlookers and prospective buyers would be able to take the sedan for a test drive and take advantage of seamless car ownership. Also, the automaker plans to offer exclusive test drive gifts from 24 to 26 March 2023 at its showrooms nationwide.
