2023 Toyota GR Corolla launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota has recently treated Malaysian track enthusiasts with the launch of three new GR cars, including the GR86, GR Supra MT, and the all-new GR Corolla. The new GR Corolla is offered in a single manual trim, priced at RM 355,000 (on the road before insurance). It is powered by a 1.6-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which is good for making 300 PS of maximum power and 370 Nm of peak torque. 

The power is sent to all four wheels through a conventional 6-speed manual gearbox that houses an iMT rev-matching feature and comes paired with a GR-Four all-wheel-drive system and Torsen limited-slip differential system. There are three drive modes available for the driver to select from.

Against the measuring tape, the hot hatchback measures 4,410 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, and 1,455 mm in height and carries a 2,640 mm wheelbase. The hatchback rides on 18-inch cast alloys featuring a 15-spoke design and a gloss black finish. The rims are shod with 235/40R18 Yokohama ADVAN Apex tyres. Handling the suspension duties is a MacPherson strut setup in the front and a double wishbone setup in the rear.

Four colour options available for the 2023 Toyota GR Corolla are Precious Metal (grey), Super White, Emotional Red, and Black.
