2023 Nissan Serena e-Power bags more than 20k orders in two months
KUALA LUMPUR: It was only in November last year that Nissan launched the all-new Serena in Japan. The six-gen model initially arrived with a naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre engine with the 1.4-litre e-Power variant entering the market just recently in February 2023.

Engine
Powering the all-new Serena e-Power is a 1.4-litre engine that replaces the previous generation's 1.2-litre unit.
The naturally-aspirated 1.4-litre engine makes maximum power of 98 PS along with a peak torque of 123 Nm. However, the former doesn’t drive the wheels which are taken care of by a drive motor making 163 PS and 315 Nm. Fueling the front wheels churning motor is a lithium-ion high voltage battery.
Fuel efficiency
The above-mentioned setup allows the engine to spin at a constant, optimum energy-efficient speed which makes it possible to attain the lowest possible fuel consumption. Depending on the variant, the Nissan Serena archives mileage between 18.5 to 20.4 kmpl.
Price
The Japan-spec Nissan Serena e-Power retails between 3.499 million Yen to 4.79 million Yen (around RM 116,088 to RM 158,920). This makes the car go up against the likes of Honda StepWgn and Toyota Noah/Voxy.
Nissan Serena in Malaysia
In the local market, Nissan Malaysia offers the Serena S-Hybrid as a locally-assembled unit. The car retails for between RM 149,888 to RM 162,888 and is assembled at the Tan Chong’s plant in Serendah.
