2023 BMW iX1 now on sale in Malaysia at RM 272k

KUALA LUMPUR: First unveiled in June 2022, the all-electric version of the third-gen BMW X1, the iX1, has finally made its way to Malaysia. The German EV is on display at the ongoing Malaysia Autoshow 2023.

The 2023 BMW iX1 is offered in a sole xDrive30 M Sport variant in Malaysia, priced at RM 272,370 (on the road without insurance). With the optional five-year extended warranty and service package, the pricing goes up to  RM 285,800. Each purchase is also accompanied by an eight-year/160,000-km battery warranty, roadside assistance, and access to BMW Service Online facilities.

Let’s get to know the all-new BMW iX1 in detail - 

Powertrain, range, and charging

Powering the BMW iX1 is a dual-motor setup (one motor for each axle)  that kicks out a combined output of 313 hp and a peak torque of 494 Nm. It comes mated to an all-wheel drive system, enabling the car to run from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.6 seconds. The top speed is rated at 180 kmph.

The motors are fed by an underfloor-mounted 64.7-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which offers a WLTP-claimed range of 440 km. When it comes to charging, a 130 kW DC fast charger juices up the 10-80% battery in just 29 minutes. If using an 11 kW AC charger, it takes 6.5 hours for a full charge.

Dimensions

The BMW iX1 measures 4,500 mm in length, 1,845 mm in width, and 1,642 mm in height and carries a wheelbase of 2,692 mm. The boot space is measured at 490 litres, which is expandable up to 1,495 litres with rear seats down
