2022 Perodua Myvi teased for the last time, shows advanced safety feature

KUALA LUMPUR: Perodua is set to pull the wraps off the all-new Myvi tomorrow i.e. November 18, but before that, it teased the revamped hatchback one last time. The new teaser previews the intelligent safety aspect of the new Myvi by showing the Lane Departure Prevention functionality.

As we know that the upcoming version of the B-segment hatchback will be getting the Perodua Smart Drive Assist (PSDA) advanced driver-assistance suite. Just like the Toyota Safety Sense or Honda Sensing, PSDA is also a pack of many advanced safety bits, including Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Control, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitor, Parking Assist, Headlamp Assist, and Advanced Safety Assist 3.0. The latter has four systems viz. Pre-Collision Warning, Pre-Collision Braking, Front Departure Alert, and Pedal Misoperation Control.

The inclusion of the PSDA can be seen as a massive step-up from the predecessor model which just had an autonomous emergency braking in the name of intelligent safety. Seeing the 2022 Perodua Myvi price range of RM 45,700 to RM 58,800 (on-the-road without insurance), the inclusion of the Level 2 semi-autonomous driving capability is impressive. However, which trim gets what will be announced on the D-Day.

Besides these, the upcoming hatch will have a new front fascia with a new grille and LED headlights and a red-themed interior with red accents on the new instrument cluster, AC vents, dashboard, and seats along with a new steering wheel equipped with several buttons.

Perodua offers the 2022 Myvi in two engine options. First is a 1.3-litre 1NR-VE capable of generating a maximum power output of 95 PS and a peak torque of 121 Nm. Another mill is a 1.5-litre 2NR-VE kicking out 103 PS of power and 137 Nm of torque. The engines are likely to be paired with a new D-CVT gearbox.

The 2022 Perodua Myvi launch will broadcast live on Perodua’s Facebook and Youtube pages tomorrow at 9.00 pm.
