2022 Nissan Kicks: What to expect
Have you seen Edaran Tan Chong Motors (ETCM) latest Chinese New Year greeting video? If not, go check it out and you’ll find the 59-second video hinting towards the soon arrival of Nissan Kicks with e-Power system. Amazing, right?
The B-segment crossover was first mentioned for the Malaysian market way back in 2018, however, back then we didn’t have a launch timeline. But now the air is getting clearer around the subject.
So, what will Nissan's latest crossover, the Kicks, bring to the table?
Since its global launch, the Kicks has received a facelift in 2020 and is currently on sale in Thailand where it is available with an e-Power hybrid unit. In other markets, the crossover is offered in non-hybrid powertrains, including a 1.5-litre mill in Cina and a naturally-aspirated 1.6-litre petrol engine in the US.
For Malaysia, as mentioned earlier, we’ll get the e-Power system, like the Thai-spec model. As for specs and features, ours is expected to feature the same gears as our neighbors. So, let’s discuss Nissan’s upcoming crossover in detail.

As can be seen, the new Kicks E-Power excites from every angle. Its two-tone colour, new V-Motion grille, LED headlights with Follow-Me-Home function, 17-inch alloys, signature LED taillamps, and new LED brake lights, all add to its premium design.
