Engine and performance
Powering the new GT coupe is a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine, which dishes out a maximum power of 730 hp at 6700-6900 rpm and a peak torque of 800 Nm at 2000-6000 rpm. Transmission duties are handled by a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G dual clutch transmission. With this setup in place, the car completes zero to 100 kmph run in just 3.2 seconds and zero to 200 kmph in 9.0 seconds. The top speed is electronically capped at 325 kmph.
Adding to the coupe’s astonishing performance are an upgraded intercooler, new camshafts, beefier turbochargers, AMG coil-over suspension with adaptive adjustable damping, and AMG traction control.
Exterior
The coupe looks absolutely stunning in the bright orange shade teamed up with gloss black accents. The hood is made up of carbon-fibre and features large exhaust air outlets made from black-finished carbon surfaces. Towards the rear, the apron features a large diffuser and twin tailpipe trims along with an innovative rear aerofoil flap. The car’s roof and other exterior bits are also made up of carbon-fibre.
Interior
Inside the cabin, the new Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series is decked up with exclusive Nappa leather combined with sporty DINAMICA microfibre in black with orange stitching. The flat-bottom AMG Performance steering wheel, new door panels, and instrument cluster are also trimmed in DINAMICA microfibre. The latter is a fully digital display measuring 12.3 inches that comes with three AMG-specific display styles - Classic, Sporty, and Supersport.
Accompanying the hi-tech driver display is a 10.25-inch multimedia display that further enables the driver to experience the vehicle functions like animated presentations of the driving assistance, vehicle, and communication systems. The central console has a V-shape and is kitted with several innovative, coloured display buttons for transmission, suspension, ESP, exhaust system, rear aerofoil flap, and start/stop function.
