Following the 2022 Perodua Aruz and Toyota Veloz is the all-new Kia EV6, which is now available for booking at all Kia authorised dealerships nationwide. This much-anticipated electric car is the close cousin to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and has also gained much acclaim in the global market. Well, now it is set to enter our market and here we bring all its key details for the prospective buyers and enthusiasts.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How much does the Kia EV6 cost?

The Kia EV6 price in Malaysia starts at RM 300,668 (on-the-road without insurance, including ongoing EV incentives).
  • What is the range of Kia EV6?

The Kia EV6 driving range is rated at 506 km (on the WLTP test cycle).
  • Price and variants

Dinamikjaya Motors Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Kia cars in Malaysia, offers the EV6 in a single CBU variant, called GT-Line AWD. It is priced at RM 300,668 (on-the-road without insurance, including ongoing EV incentives). Included in the price is a five-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty and a seven-year/150,000 km lithium-ion battery warranty.

    Powertrain and charging

The Malaysia-spec electric crossover comes with a twin-motor AWD electric drivetrain paired with a 77.4 kWh battery pack. The former generates a maximum power output of 325 PS and a peak torque of 605 Nm, which is enough to propel the EV from standstill to 100 kmph in 5.2 seconds. After hitting the century sprint, the car hits a top speed of 185 kmph.

The Kia EV6 range is rated at 506 km (on the WLTP test cycle). As for charging, it features a multi-charging system compatible with 400-volt as well as 800-volt DC fast chargers. The EV takes only 18 minutes to charge from 10 to 80% when using a 350 kW DC fast charger. However, if you will use an 11 kW AC unit, the same task will take around 7 hours and 20 minutes.

    Exterior

With ‘Best of the Best' Red Dot design award under its belt, the EV turns all the heads wherever it goes. It underpins the brand’s new ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, which is human-centred and progressive. The futuristic detailings are perfectly blended with sharp stylistic elements and smooth, sculptural shapes, giving the crossover an eye-catching appearance.

Key exterior highlights of the EV6 are -

    • ‘Digital Tiger Face’ with Dual LED projector headlights, LED daytime running lights and a ‘sequential’ dynamic turn indicators
    • Aerodynamic silhouette
    • Straight and sporty roofline, which merges with a wing-type roof spoiler
    • Ducktail-esque full-width LED tail lamps
    • Auto flush door handles that pop out when you approach the vehicle
    • Powered sunroof
    • Powered boot lid with hands-free operation

The Kia EV6 colour options list includes Moonscape, Yacht Blue, Aurora Black Pearl, Snow White Pearl, and Runway Red.
