2022 Hyundai Palisade launched in Malaysia at RM 328,888

KUALA LUMPUR: Hyundai-Sime Darby Motor (HSDM), the official distributor of Hyundai Cars in Malaysia, today expanded its lineup with the launch of the all-new Palisade. The three-row Korean SUV made its Malaysia debut through the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route. The two versions on offer are seven-seater (2-2-3) and eight-seater (2-3-3), available with a choice of two engines. Let’s check out their prices first -

Note the above prices are on-the-road, without insurance, and include the ongoing sales tax exemption (50% for CBU cars).

The two engine options include - 2.2-litre four-cylinder CRDi turbodiesel and a 3.8-litre naturally-aspirated V6 gasoline. The former churns out a maximum power output of 200 PS at 3,800 rpm and a peak torque of 440 Nm from 1,750-2,750 rpm. It is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and standard all-wheel-drive system, which enables the SUV to hit the century sprint in 10.2 seconds before attaining a top speed of 190 kmph.

The petrol mill, on the other hand, delivers 295 PS at 6,000 rpm and 355 Nm of torque at 5,200 rpm. Here the same transmission sends power to the front wheels, allowing the car to run from zero to 100 kmph in 7.8 seconds on the way to hit 210 kmph top speed.

In terms of dimensions, the new Hyundai Palisade measures 4,980 mm in length, 1,975 mm in width, 1,750 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. It offers a generous cargo space of 1,297 litres.

Included in the Palisade safety kit are six airbags, ABS with EBD, Hill start assist, Vehicle Stability Management, Traction control, Trailer Stability Assist, Downhill Brake Control, Rear Occupant Alert, Safe Exit Alert, tyre pressure monitoring system, and front and rear parking sensors.

Speaking about the 2022 Hyundai Palisade exterior colour options, both seven and eight-seater variants come in five earthy tones, including white cream, lagoon silver, steel graphite, moonlight cloud, and timeless black. As for the interior, Black-monotone and navy colour packages are available with the options of black leather, and burgundy or warm grey Nappa leather.
