It was only a few months back that Audi got its new official distributor in the country, PHS Automotive (PHSAM). And shortly after taking the command into their hands, PHSAM made several improvements like updated product offerings and network expansion.

From the looks of it the new Audi RS 5 Sportback sure looks like a pretty spacious car with high utility value for family, business, and leisure. Also, it gets a large luggage compartment along with a fully/partially folding rear seat bench, and a level loading floor.

Powertrain configuration

Like the previous gen model, the all-new RS 5 Sportback gets the same powertrain as the RS 4 Avant. So, under the hood, the car gets a 2.9-litre bi-turbo V6 petrol engine generating maximum power of 450 PS from 5,700-6,700 rpm along with a peak torque of 600 Nm from 1,900-5,000 rpm.

Transmission

The drive is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive system with sport differential.

Performance

The above-mentioned powertrain setup allows the new RS 5 Sportback to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.9 seconds. As for the top speed, the car is capable of reaching 280 kmph.

Style

The all-new Audi RS 5 Sportback showcases an independent sporty character that would be an onlooker at the very first sight.

At the front, the car gets a distinctive view dominated by the wide & flat Singleframe with a frameless integrated radiator grille, glossy black Audi ring & nameplate, matrix LED headlamps with dynamic light design & dynamic turn signal, a new 3D honeycomb massive air intake, and front spoiler with Quattro logo.

The car’s side profile gets massive 20-inch forged light-alloy diamond-turned wheels that not only support dynamic driving character but also emphasize its sporty appearance. The rear like the front & side looks sporty and dynamic as well, thanks to the RS-specific diffuser insert sitting above the attached spoiler lip and the RS exhaust system with oval tailpipes.

Cabin features

The Audi RS 5 Sportback is a sporty-looking car both on the outside and inside. For instance, the control centre exudes pure sportiness with the RS design package that includes red fine Nappa leather with honeycomb quilting and contrast stitching in crescendo red.

Taking care of the comfort factor is the stable lateral support and excellent seating comfort. For connectivity, there is the RS-specific Audi virtual cockpit plus RS menus and an MMI touch display that provides important information.

Also part of the cockpit is - leather-wrapped, 3-spoke steering with multi-function Plus and heating system, Bang & Olufsen sound system with 3D sound, head-up display, hands-free power tailgate, and 12-way electric front seat plus with electric lumbar support & memory for the driver.

Driving dynamics

The driver here has the freedom to tailor-make the driving experience, thanks to the Audi drive select dynamic handling system. Further the RS suspension plus Dynamic Ride Control (DRC) calls for dynamic cornering and directional stability.

Safety

When it comes to Audi safety is a given and that goes for the RS 5 Sportback. The car’s safety pack includes - an Audi pre-sense rear, 8 airbag system, Audi adaptive cruise control, Lane change warning, direct tyre pressure monitoring system, and lane departure warning.

Colour options

The 2022 Audi RS 5 Sportback is offered in eight colour options including Navarra Blue, Sebring Black, Glacier White, Nardo Gray, Daytona Gray, Tango Red, Ascari Blue, and Mythos Black.
