2021 Toyota Vios: Key Highlights
It was only a while back when Toyota Malaysia revealed the all-new Vios facelift shortly after it did the same for the revised Yaris hatch. Though we are still awaiting the launch of the two cars, Toyota has begun the booking ritual.

So, meanwhile, the new Vios gets launched, here we are helping you make the right decision by sharing the key highlights of the facelifted sedan. But before that why not learn some basics like once launched the facelifted Vios will be offered in three variant options - J, E, and G.
Though, Toyota has not revealed the actual price tag these variants will carry, but we do have the estimated Vios price tag that goes as follows -

We know what you are thinking, there indeed is a price fluctuation compared to the previous model. On a more elaborate note, the base J trim is RM 400 cheaper than before, while the E and G get expensive by RM 5,600 and RM 3,100, respectively. Included in the new Vios price tag will be a 5-year factory warranty with unlimited mileage. Further, the price factors in the 2020 SST exemption, but excludes insurance.

Inclusion of Toyota Safety Sense (TSS)
Toyota Safety Sense is ‘The Standard of Safety’. It packs in active safety features all designed to help protect the driver and passengers. The TSS suite in Vios facelift includes - a Pre-Collision System (PCS) that uses a camera and radar to warn the driver, it works from 15 kmph and also provides autonomous emergency braking. Next up is the Lane Departure Alert (LDA), which works from 50 kmph, warns the driver of any unintended lane shift.
Furthermore, the Vios safety pack consists of a new 3D 360-degree panoramic view monitor, hill start assist control, vehicle stability control, front/rear digital video recorders, and blind spot monitor with rear-cross traffic alert. Seven airbags, though not mentioned officially, seeing its presence in the previous model, inclusion is expected in the new one as well.
Best of convenience
The all-new Vios comes with eye-catching aesthetics, but that’s not all, it offers an exhilarating drive packed with convenience and comfort. The list includes -
- Automatic air conditioning system
- Optitron meter with multi-information display (MID)
- Triple-bezel LED headlights with Follow-me-home function
- Daytime running lights
- Electrochromic rear view mirror
- Paddle shifters
- Drive mode controls to switch between - ECO and SPORT mode
Want more? Well, there is an optional aero kit that tags along a boot lid lip spoiler, front and rear bumper lips, and side skirts.
