2021 Renault Megane RS 300 Trophy now available in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The official distributor of Renault cars in Malaysia, TC Euro Cars, has finally pulled the wraps off the facelifted Megane RS after a long wait. Available in a single RS 300 Trophy variant, the updated model features an enhanced version of the 1.8L turbo mill, and new interior equipment along with subtle cosmetic tweaks inside and out.

The 2021 Renault Megane RS 300 Trophy price in Malaysia starts at RM 326,476 (on the road without insurance, with SST exemption). The customers can also grab this hot hatch via the company’s subscription programme, The 1-year subscription is priced at RM 7,200 per month, the 2-year plan is available at RM 6,200 a month and for a 3-year plan, you need to pay a monthly fee of RM 5,200.

Moving to the changes, the new Megane RS 300 Trophy equips an upgraded 1.8-litre 4-cylinder turbo mill under the hood, which delivers a maximum output of 300 PS and a peak torque of 420 Nm of torque. This means a bump of 20 PS in power and 30 Nm in torque as compared to the previous version. For the gearbox, the updated hatchback only gets a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, unlike the predecessor that was also available with a manual option.

Performance-wise, the all-new Megane RS 300 Trophy is enabled to complete a 0 to 100 kmph sprint in just 5.7 seconds. The car also features a Torsen mechanical Limited Slip Differential for better traction at corners. Each absorber gets Hydraulic Compression Stops that improve drivability

On the exterior, the hatchback revisions include new LED headlights with revamped DRLs, redesigned LED tail lights, and new 19-inch wheels with red accents and diamond-cut finishing. The available color options are - Flame Red, Diamond Black, Pearl White, Liquid Yellow, and Orange Tonic. 

The Megane RS 300 Trophy cabin is now fitted with a horizontally placed 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display that supports Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Also new for 2021 is a double-diamond logo on the steering wheel and a new centre console with an additional rotary knob.

On purchase of the new Megane RS, the customers will get a warranty of three years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first.
