2021 Nissan Navara: Variants explained

Nissan Navara 2.5L Single Cab MT

This is the only single cab variant in Navara’s lineup, which costs RM 91,900. For this price, you get the following features-

  • Automatic halogen headlamps
  • Halogen tail lights
  • Body-coloured front bumper
  • Black rear bumper
  • Black painted interlock grille
  • Black door handles
  • Black door mirror with power-adjustable, manual-folding
  • Speed-sensing wipers
  • 16-inch alloy wheels
  • Colour option: Solid White

Inside the cabin, the new Nissan Navara remains unchanged in terms of interior architecture and design. But, as per the automaker, significant changes have been done to improve the comfort and quietness in the cabin. Key highlights are:

  • Standard analogue instrument cluster with monochrome display
  • 2-Din audio system with 2 speakers, Bluetooth, and 1 USB socket
  • Sporty steering wheel
  • Vinyl seats
  • 4-way manually adjustable driver seat
  • Manual air-conditioning system
  • Speed-sensing door lock

As for safety, Nissan has loaded the single-cab Navara with 2 SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, and 2 reverse sensors.

In terms of mechanical setup, the pickup is equipped with a 2.5 litre four-cylinder turbo diesel mill, delivering a maximum power of 163 PS at 3,600 rpm and a peak torque of 403 Nm at 2,000 rpm. It is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and a 4WD system.

Nissan Navara 2.5L SE MT

Moving on, the SE MT variant sits at number two in the pickup’s range and gets some add-on features along with the above-mentioned one. The exterior bits are:

  • Silver accents on the front bumper
  • Body-coloured rear bumper
  • Chrome front grille
  • Chrome door handles
  • Body-coloured door mirrors with power adjustment and folding, heater and turns signal
  • Black side steps
  • Tailgate assist
  • Bed liner
  • 17-inch alloy wheels
  • Colour options: Solid White, Brilliant Silver, and Black Star

The different features inside the cabin are black fabric upholstery, rear AC vents, 4 speakers, and 4 USB ports. In terms of safety, it just has an Isofix child seat mount other than the single-cab safety features. Further, the engine setup of the two variants is also the same.

Nissan Navara 2.5L SE AT

Stepping up the ladder, we have the Navara SE AT, which carries the same exterior, interior and safety highlights as the SE MT, except the 6-way manually adjustable driver seat. However, the significant difference lies under the hood.

The Navara SE AT is powered by the same 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, but with a different state of tune, which churns out a maximum power output of 190 hp at 3,600 rpm and a peak torque of 450 Nm at 2,000 rpm. And as the name implies, the transmission system coupled with the engine is a seven-speed automatic that sends power to all four wheels.

Nissan Navara 2.5L V AT

Next on the list is the Navara V AT, this variant gets premium features as compared to the previous versions. On the exterior, we can see quad-LED projectors with LED daytime running lights, LED front fog lamps as well as LED tail lights. A new burning red option is also available in the colour palette.

Inside, the hi-tech and premium inclusions are:

  • Leather-wrapped steering wheel with all important controls
  • 7-inch multi-info display
  • 8-inch touchscreen Display Audio system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support
  • Six speakers
  • Intelligent key and push-start ignition
  • Dual-zone automatic air-conditioning with rear vents
  • Cruise control

The safety pack also gets a bump as it includes six airbags, intelligent predictive forward collision warning, intelligent forward emergency braking, and an intelligent driver alert system. Powering the Navara V AT is the same 190hp 2.5-litre mill.

Nissan Navara 2.5L VL AT

Next variant in the lineup is the VL automatic, it gets silver roof rails, rain-sensing mirrors, and cameras on the door mirrors as exterior add-on features. The cabin also looks more plush and comfortable with leather upholstery and an 8-way powered adjustable driver seater with 2-way lumbar support.

In terms of safety, Nissan has packed this Navara trim with all top-notch driver-assistance features, including blind-spot warning, high beam assist, intelligent blind spot intervention, lane departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. However, the engine setup is the same as the V AT.

Nissan Navara Pro-4X AT

At the top of the range sits the Navara Pro-4X AT, the variant that starred in all the teaser campaigns and the media preview. It is the costliest variant in the lineup and justifies its price tag well with its unique, and meaner stance.

The pickup boasts a body-coloured front bumper with orange accents, black painted front grille, roof rails, door handles, door mirror, and a Utili-track cargo system. The said system consists of four forged aluminium cleats and two channels, for securing cargo ideally, Nissan has also added two new colour options for this variant - Stealth Grey and Pearl White.

Added to the interior sportiness is orange stitching in contrast to the semi-bucket leather seats, which also feature the Pro-4X logo. However, the safety pack and engine set-up of the variant are identical to the VL AT.

Summing up

With so many fresh and exciting bits on the palette, all the variants of the new Nissan Navara reiterate their bold character. We hope this article helps you in finding out the right one suiting your preferences and budget.
