2021 Nissan Navara facelift full specs revealed for Thai market
KUALA LUMPUR: It was only a while back that Nissan took covers off the 3rd-gen Navara after a series of leaked images and teasers. And now Nissan has revealed new Navara's full details for the Thai market.
For starters, the revised pickup gets a new front fascia that looks heavily inspired by the larger Titan. Dominating the exterior is the massive Navara-badged 'interlock' grille, sized-up headlamps, aggressive front bumper, and taller bonnet. The rear also seems to be revised with new taillights, restyled rear bumper with integrated step, and taller bed.
The range-topping variants benefit from LED headlights with ice-cube-like graphics and C-shaped DRLs along with LED taillights with C-shaped guide lights.
Included in the 2021 model range are two new variants - Pro-2X 4x2 and Pro- 4X 4x4. These new rugged models are easily distinguishable with their blacked exterior highlights, 17-inch black alloy wheels covered in all-terrain tyres, and wheel arch extensions.
On the inside, it receives a number of features, including
- 7-inch multi-info display
- Rain-sensing wipers
- Speed-sensing door locks
- Acoustic glass windscreen and front windows
- 360-degree cameras
- Auto-folding door mirrors
The double-cab version gets more comfortable and reshaped rear seats and a centre armrest with cupholders.
Powering the new Navara pickup is the more advanced 2.3-litre turbo diesel mill, available in two tunings - single turbo and twin-turbo. The former is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox and makes 163 PS at 3,750 rpm and 430 Nm from 1,500 to 2,500 rpm. The latter on the other hand churns out 190 PS and 450 Nm and is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission.
On the suspension front, the Thai-spec model gets leaf springs at the rear, complying with the country's commercial vehicle taxes requirements. The strengthened live rear axle increases the pickups payload capacity, while the new steering rack enhances low-speed manoeuvrability and response.
The safety kit has also been revised for the 2021 Navara pickup. The V, Pro-2X, and Pro-4X models get a driver attention alert and autonomous emergency braking system. The range-topping Pro-4x gets a few additional features like blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning with braking intervention.
In Thailand, the new 2021 Nissan Navara price range starts from 599,000 bath (approx. RM 80,400) and goes up to 1,149,000 bath (approx. RM 154,200).
