2021 Mitsubishi Outlander teased ahead of its debut
KUALA LUMPUR: It was only yesterday the images of the next-gen Mitsubishi Outlander leaked online and now the automaker has released the first official teaser.
Though a bit dark, it captures the car's bold front fascia very well, especially with the split-headlamp design. As per the automaker, the upcoming Outlander was guided and developed under the 'I-Fu-Do-Do' theme which means to be authentic and majestic. Also, the design language bears a close resemblance to the Engelberg Tourer concept revealed last year and it feels like the natural evolution of Outlander's current design theme.
What design elements are clear from the next-gen Outlander teaser?
Visible are thick chrome accents, bigger & separating headlamps, thin-slit DRLs. Further, the image confirms a downward kink present on the base of the windshield and sharp contour like running across the car's length.
As for the interior revisions, though the automaker has not shared any images, the one seen in the Engelberg Tourer looked production-ready. It showcased a neat and premium looking layout with a large infotainment display. There are high chances that the Outlander will follow the suit.
The SUV is expected to sit on the same platform as the new Nissan Rogue, with Mitsubishi using Nissan's mill as well, thanks to their shared alliance.
The ongoing Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is one of the most popular options in the segment and the same is expected from the upcoming offering.
More details will get clear with the SUVs debut that is scheduled for February 2021.
