2021 Mazda CX-3 launched in Malaysia, price starts at RM 130,729

KUALA LUMPUR: The first-generation Mazda CX-3 has received yet another facelift in the local market. For 2021, the Japanese automaker brings more connectivity and advanced safety features onboard, making the compact crossover safer and more complete now. 

Like earlier, the 2021 Mazda CX-3 is a fully imported (CBU) model from Japan, which is offered in a single 2.0L trim priced at RM 130,729 (on-the-road without insurance, but including 50% SST reduction available until the end of June 2021). The price includes a five-year warranty and free maintenance package.

Developed with Mazda’s unique design philosophy, the updated CX-3 gets a power sunroof and front parking sensors. It comes ready with an all-LED lighting system as standard, including headlamps (with auto on/off and leveling systems), daytime running lights, and tail lights. Included in the styling kit are 18-inch aluminium alloy wheels, shark fin antenna, roof spoiler, and twin exhaust tips.

Climbing inside, here the new CX-3 updated cabin boasts a more stylish and premium vibe. The new standard features for the 2021 model are Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, new leatherette-fabric upholstery for seats, and a 360° View Monitor.

The list of premium standard features also comprises Active Driving Display, a seven-inch, full-color touchscreen display with Mazda Connect, automatic single-zone climate control, cruise control, 10-way adjustable driver seat with memory function, and electronic parking brake.

On the mechanical front, Mazda kept things unchanged. This means the new CX-3 continues to equip SKYACTIV 2.0-litre four-cylinder gasoline engine churning out a maximum power of 154 hp and a peak torque of 206 Nm. It comes mated to a six-speed SKYACTIV-DRIVE automatic transmission that drives the front wheels. The setup propels the CX-3 to 100 kmph in 8.5 seconds before attaining a top speed of 197 kmph. 

The Mazda CX-3 is already considered as one of the safest vehicles in its category with active features like Dynamic Stability Control, Traction Control System, Hill Launch Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. But for 2021, Mazda brings on some more advanced bits like High Beam Control, Lane Departure Warning System, Driver Attention Alert, and Smart City Brake Support for both front and rear. 

The list of standard passive safety features include six airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System with Electronic Brake-Force Distribution, Emergency Brake Assist, Emergency Stop Signal, Dynamic Stability Control, Traction Control System and ISOFIX child seat anchor points,

Talking about the 2021 Mazda CX-3 color options, customers can choose between five different shades - Soul Red Crystal, Deep Crystal Blue, Snowflake White Pearl, Machine Gray, and the new Polymetal Gray.
