2021 Jaguar F-Type Heritage 60 Edition pays homage to the legendary E-Type
KUALA LUMPUR: To mark the 60th-anniversary celebration of the E-type sports car in 2021, Jaguar introduced a new limited-run F-Type Heritage 60 Edition. Based on the F-Type R, the honorary cars’ production will be limited to just 60 units worldwide and each one will be hand-finished by the personalization experts.
On the exterior, the F-Type Heritage 60 Edition features a solid Sherwood Green paintwork, an original E-Type colour, which has not been offered on any new Jaguar model since 1960. The specially curated version will ride on exclusive diamond-turned 20-inch wheels incorporating gloss black and chrome accents and black brake calipers. A very special E-Type badge is also placed on the tail.
Inside, the cabin is decked up with dual-tone Caraway and Ebony Windsor leather trims, which are teamed up with an E-type–inspired aluminum console for a dashing look. Here, the E-Type marks are subtler as compared to the exterior including a small badge positioned above the infotainment system, the E-Type 60th Anniversary logo on the door sills, and headrests.
Also available is a suite of advanced driver-focused technologies, comprising a reconfigurable, 12.3-inch TFT HD instrument panel, Touch Pro Infotainment system, and Smartphone Pack with Apple CarPlay compatibility.
Available in coupe and convertible versions, the Heritage 60 Edition is powered by a supercharged 5.0-litre V-8 engine generating a whooping power of 575 PS and a peak torque of 700 Nm. It is exclusively an all-wheel-drive featuring revised dampers, anti-roll bars, and rear suspension knuckles for heightened driver engagement. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
In terms of performance, the two-seater takes just 3.5 seconds to bell 0-100 kmph target, while its maximum speed is rated at 300 kmph.
“The F-TYPE Heritage 60 Edition is a fantastic example of what the SV Bespoke team is capable of. Marrying E-type inspired detailing with the new F-TYPE gave us an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the heritage of Jaguar’s legendary sports cars. With unrivaled access to original drawings, paint codes and reference materials, working hand-in-hand with our colleagues at Jaguar Classic, we’ve created a distinctive and highly collectible interpretation of the definitive Jaguar sports car,” said Clare Hansen, Director of Vehicle Personalisation, Jaguar Special Vehicle Operations
Each Heritage 60 Edition will be built at the company’s Castle Bromwich plant in the UK and will be finished at Jaguar Special Vehicle Operations in Warwickshire by the SV Bespoke team.
