2021 Jaguar F-Pace gets styling and tech upgrades
KUALA LUMPUR: Jaguar has given the F-Pace SUV its fair share of updates for 2021. The revision can be noticed on the outside, inside, and under the skin as well. The car now gets more refined and improved in ways for drivers to appreciate.
Starting from the outside, the 2021 F-Pace features a larger grille and hood, thus gaining a potent power bulge. Complementing the new frontal opening are slim LED headlights with J-blade graphics for DRLs and animated turn indicators where the light flashes in sequence. Further, adding to the car's wider stance are bigger bumper vents with chrome accents around. The car gets new fender vents with the iconic 'leaper' logo. At the rear, we see redesigned all-LED taillights with chicane graphics (similar to the ones seen in the i-Pace electric utility vehicle). Variants with more-powerful mill feature integrated exhaust outlets flanking on a new rear bumper.
Time to open the gates and see the redesigned interior for which Jaguar's design director, Julain Thompson said, "Really, we've just gone over the car with a fine-tooth comb and made everything better". The SUV now features a fresh look, new tech and material, and greater attention to details.
At the centre of the dashboard, just below the air-con vents, is present the bigger and brighter touchscreen display. The 2021 models get an 11.4-inch display that is home to Jaguar's Pivi information system inspired by mobile devices and has a simplified menu structure. So much so that 90 percent of the functions it can do are two-finger taps away. The Pivi system is offered in two flavors - Pro variant with navigation and standard on without navigation. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across the Pivi range. The system is also capable of a two-device connection via Bluetooth, dual-sim tech with two LTE modems, over-the-air software updates, and instant start-up.
Further added to the list is a head-up display and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that can be reconfigured. As expected, the cabin is wrapped in high-quality material with greater attention to details seen at every inch.
Jaguar Chief Designer of Colour and Material, Siobhan Hughes, said, "We see our Jaguar interiors as sanctuaries." She described the F-Pace's new digs as feeling handcrafted and being inspired by contemporary British design.
