2021 Honda Odyssey revealed, to debut in April at NYIAS

KUALA LUMPUR: The 2021 Honda Odyssey is all set to make its debut at the upcoming 2020 New York International Auto Show. Even though the mega event is quite far from now, the Japanese automaker has gone ahead to reveal the upcoming MPV prior to the event. The facelifted model of the fifth-generation Honda Odyssey comes sporting a refreshed styling, numerous cabin upgrades, industry-first "Rear Seat Reminder with Camera System" that includes CabinWatch®, and Honda Sensing® as standard across the range.

Starting with the exterior, the 2021 Honda Odyssey gets a revisited blacked-out grille with a chrome strip, brand-new LED headlights that are more powerful than ever before, updated lower front facia, new fog light housings, gloss-black trim with a chrome strip under the rear window, large 19-inch alloy wheels, and auto-dimming ORVMs. Moving inside, the MPV, the new stuff includes revamped seats with contrast stitching, new climate controls, tri-color floor mats, power lumbar support for the front passenger seat, second-row seatback pockets, illuminated USB ports, various piano black trim pieces, and as mentioned earlier, an industry-first "Rear Seat Reminder with Camera System" including CabinWatch®.

Powering the 2021 Honda Odyssey is a 3.5-litre i-VTEC™ V6 engine equipped with Variable Cylinder Management (VCM). This powerhouse generates 280 hp of maximum power and comes coupled with Honda's advanced 10-speed automatic transmission. Thanks to Variable Cylinder Management (VCM), the V6 engine can switch between three- and six-cylinder operation with ease and offer improved fuel-efficiency.

The 2021 Honda Odyssey will the Honda Sensing® safety suite as standard across the lineup. Thanks to the presence of Honda Sensing®, all models of the updated MPV will now feature high-end safety features like Pedestrian Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, and others. Also, the MPV is said to clinch on to a perfect 5-star Overall Vehicle Score from the NHTSA alongside a Top Safety Pick rating from the IIHS.
