Kia EV9 dimensions
In terms of dimensions, both the 7-and 6-seater EV9 are identical. They measure 5,015 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, and 1,780 mm in height, and span a wheelbase of 3,100 mm. The boot capacity is also the same at 52 litres.
If we talk about curb weight, there is a slight difference between the two. The 7-seater model weighs 2,648 kg while the 6-seater tips the scale at 2,674 kg.

The Kia EV9 is built on the widely acclaimed E-GMP platform and has gained a number of accolades for its innovative design. These include - Gold award at iFDesign Awards, 'World's Best Car for 2024' at the Women's Worldwide Car of the Year awards, 'German Luxury Car of the Year 2024', ‘World Car of the Year’ and ‘World Electric Vehicle’ at the New York Auto Show.
The exterior design of the EV conveys confidence and modernity with its upright stance, defined lines, and flat surfaces. It features the brand’s signature ‘Digital Tiger Face’ with a ‘Digital Pattern Lighting’ grille and vertical headlamps. Inside, the EV boasts a spacious cabin due to its flat floor and long wheelbase, thanks to the E-GMP platform. Based on the 'three-stage sustainable design strategy,’ the KIa EV9 comes with numerous recycled and sustainable materials, including -
- Bioplastics: These are eco-friendly plastics made from renewable sources like vegetable oils and corn extract. It is used throughout the EV’s cabin.
- Post-consumer material (PCM) plastic: Recycled from existing products, PCM plastic is used in door garnishes of the EV.
- Bio PU: This is a sustainable alternative to leather, incorporating plant-based components. It is used in the EV's seats and interior coverings.
- Recycled PET fabric: Derived from easily recyclable plastics like recycled bottles, this material is used extensively in the seats and headliners The cabin floors feature carpets made from recycled PET and fishing nets.
- Bio paint: Made from rapeseed oil, it is a sustainable alternative to conventional paint. It is used on the door switch panels of the EV.
The infotainment system of Kia’s flagship SUV is dubbed as 'Ki'. It complements the SUV's design ethos with a graphic style and aligns with the brand’s ‘Opposites United’ philosophy.
The 6-seater EV9 comes with a 2-2-2 layout, featuring two individual ”premium relaxation“second-row seats that come with ottomans. The 7-seater model, on the other hand, features a 2-3-2 layout with a 60:40 split one-touch sliding fold system in the second row. Kia EV9 drivetrain, range and charging
The Kia EV9 GT-Line is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup that kicks out a maximum power of 385 PS and a peak torque of 700 Nm. It enables the EV to run from zero to 100 kmph in 5.3 seconds and hit a top speed of 200 kmph.
Feeding the motors is a 99.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which offers a cruising range of 505 km (on the WLTP cycle).
As for charging, the EV incorporates an ultra-fast 800V electrical system that supports up to 11 kW AC charging and up to 350 kW DC charging rate. The former juices up the full battery in 10.5 hours while the latter offers 10-80% SoC in just 24 minutes.
