All-new 2023 Toyota Vios: Detailed in images

The 4th gen Toyota Vios is finally here in Malaysia and the prospective buyers & enthusiasts couldn’t be happier. Though priced a little higher than the previous-gen model, the new Vios showcases a bunch of new improvements and features.

Compared to the previous-gen model, the new Vios is offered in only two trim options, leaving the J and GR Sport versions.

As for the prices, they have gone slightly up; RM 4,000 for the E and RM 5,100 for the G models, respectively.

 

The all-new Vios is built on the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) - Toyota’s latest and most advanced platform. It offers higher stability and structural rigidity while remaining compact and lightweight.

The new Vios has grown in size compared to the previous-gen model. For instance, the length has gone up by 5 mm, width by 10 mm, and height by 5 mm. The wheelbase reflects major improvement with a 70 mm jump.

The new Vios design features a striking design with an imposing front end and a rear-biased cabin. Even with a sporty lowered body, the car offers a refined comfort level.

The Vios projects a distinct presence on and off the road, thanks to its sleek headlights. The illuminating LED with Auto High Beam & Follow Me Home function units offer improved visibility and unmistakable brightness.

The front design includes front aerodynamic air vents that come in handy as they reduce drag for better handling and improve brake cooling performance.

The new Vios runs on 17-inch ten-spoke alloy wheels that radiate out from the center to the outer edge.

The rear lighting units include a rear sequential turn signal that provides an advanced and premium feel with distinctive illumination.

The rear end also features a rear diffuser and air canards that offer direct airflow, thus maintaining a low center of gravity along with better traction.

Under the hood rests Toyota’s DOHC Dual VVT-i powertrain making 106 PS and 138 Nm of torque. The mill delivers both improved fuel efficiency and throttle response.

Paired with the engine is a new 7-speed CVT with a sequential shiftmatic gearbox designed for a more dynamic driving experience in both auto and manual modes. It offers a more responsive gear change at every ratio.
