Triumph Street Scrambler

Just after two years of its introduction in the global market, the 2019 Street Scrambler got a major makeover in its 2019 version. Major styling upgrades in the latest model include some changes on the front end including the headlight brackets, front fender and triple clamp. The instrument panel has also been visually upgraded, featuring the dial face that has its detailing in translucent silver. It is now a combination of an analogue velocity display with an LCD inset, which also gets a new bezel and metallic plate with the Bonneville logo.

Overall, the motorcycle features a modern scrambler design with a bold and aggressive stance. The seat comes in a two-piece set with a ribbed design and leather and textile combination, rendering it a premium appearance. With a total of three color options available with the Street Scrambler, buyers can get the look they prefer. The available shades include Fusion White, Cranberry Red and Khaki Green with Matt Aluminium. 

Along with that, Triumph also offers a custom kit called the Urban Tracker. This custom kit comes with a headlight grille and bezel, skid plate, a slip-on Vance & Hines silencer, high front fender, a black ribbed bench seat, black handlebar brace, and a range of other striking detailing that make the Street Scrambler look even more sporty and attractive.

The 2019 Street Scrambler has been appreciated for its superior riding comfort and nimble handling both during urban commutes as well as adventure rides and cruises on the highway. The motorcycle gets non-adjustable 41 mm KYB forks with Cartridge Damping at the front and KYB twin RSUs with pre-load adjustment and 120mm rear wheel travel. This setup makes for exceptional control and stability and gives the motorcycle impressive off-roading capabilities as well. 

It is not just cosmetic upgrades for the 2019 Street Scrambler, but the motorcycle’s powerhouse has also been improved to deliver better performance as compared to its predecessor. The Street Scrambler now gets the High Torque 900 cc engine. It is the parallel-twin 900 cc engine used in the Bonneville series and it makes 65 PS of power at 7,500 rpm and 80 Nm of torque at 3,800 rpm. With a lighter crankshaft and balance shaft, magnesium cam cover, and a lighter torque-assist clutch, the engine now delivers 18% more power and an increased rev limit by 500 rpm. 

With a compression ratio of 11.0:1 and paired with a 5-speed manual transmission system, the engine also offers improved fuel consumption figures at 24.43 kmpl., which was around 21.95 kmpl in its previous model. Along with that, the 2019 Street Scrambler also gets two power modes, Road and Rain. These modes optimize the throttle mapping and traction control improving the ride experience, control and stability depending upon the mode selected and riding conditions. 

The Street Scrambler is not just a joy to ride but is also quite secure, equipped with an advanced braking setup. It gets a single four-piston Brembo brake calliper on the front end, and a single two-piston calliper on the rear wheel. It also comes with switchable ABS, which is a great feature when going for off-road adventures.

For an urban scrambler motorcycle with exceptional off-roading prowess and a perfect riding posture, the RM60k+ price tag of the 900cc Street Scrambler seems to be quite reasonable. The motorcycle with its powerful engine and modern features offers a very practical, enjoyable and sustainable ride on varied terrains.
