QJ Motor SRK 600RC Review 2024
Abhishek Katariya says
Popular Chinese automaker QJ Motor has brought in the updated version of one of the most globally popular models from the middleweight sports bike category, the SRK600RC. With slight tweaks to its appearance and mechanicals under the skin, the all-new QJ Motor SRK600RC claims to be even sportier than before, while taking on established rivals like the Honda CBR650R. The new QJ Motor SRK600RC is now being offered in the Malaysian two-wheeler market in two new colour options – Blue and Black.
QJ Motor SRK 600RC Design
QJ Motor is often praised for making all of its motorcycles look distinctive within their genres, and the SRK600RC is no exception. For a middleweight sports bike, the QJ Motor SRK600RC has the right substance, aggressiveness, and road presence, and it is this design language of the motorcycle that draws the most attention and desirability towards it.
At the front, the QJ Motor SRK600RC gets a very sporty-looking fascia comprising of a dual headlamp setup sitting within a nicely sculpted front fairing. These dual headlamps are all-LED units and come with daytime running LED strips over them, much like a very popular and much more expensive and powerful Italian motorcycle. The upper part of the front fairing houses the curved transparent windscreen, which is also mounted with long rearview mirrors.
The QJ Motor SRK600RC impresses even with its side profile, with it having a very proportionate and nicely styled full-fairing look. Here, the sporty-looking side panels of the fairing look substantial, while coming with bold-looking contrasting graphics which add even more aggressiveness to the whole design of the motorcycle. The off-set rear mono-shock, golden theme for the engine, stubby exhaust pipe and Y-themed black alloy wheels complete the side look of the motorcycle.
Towards the rear, the QJ Motor SRK600RC gets a sleek and minimalist tail section, which houses the split seat arrangement and recessed pillion grab handles within its rearmost part. At the back of the tailpiece, the motorcycle gets a tiny LED tail lamp, while the LED turn indicators come mounted on the long rear fender.
The rider’s cockpit of the QJ Motor SRK600RC comprises clip-on handlebars, which along with the rear set foot pegs, give this motorcycle a very sporty riding posture. Adding more modernity to the motorcycle here in the cockpit is the 5-inch full-TFT instrument console, which displays all the basic information, along with a comprehensive MID. While the motorcycle looks sporty and premium, fit, and finish levels are inconsistent in some places, diluting the whole package by a small margin.
SRK 600RC Ride & Handling
Following the norm of the category of middleweight sports bikes, the QJ Motor SRK600RC also comes with upside-down telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. Both of these are adjustable and tuned for a rather comfortable ride quality rather than going on a full-blown mode with a stiffer setup. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with 120/70 ZR17 front and 180/55 ZR17 rear tyres, with it also having a top-spec braking setup of dual 320mm discs at the front and a single 260mm disc at the rear.
QJ Motor SRK 600RC Engine & Fuel Consumption
QJ Motor has retained the four-stroke, liquid-cooled, inline-four, DOHC, 600cc engine from the previous iteration of the motorcycle for this new version. However, with minor tweaks done to its internals, the engine feels more refined and powerful, especially at higher RPMs. The engine is paired to a 6-speed transmission as before, and now produces a maximum power output of 81.6 PS and a peak torque output of 51 Nm.
SRK 600RC Braking & Safety
The QJ Motor SRK600RC has been equipped with bare-basic safety essentials for a middleweight sports bike, such as dual-channel ABS, traction control and ride-by-wire. However, given the competition, we would have loved to see more riding aids here on this motorcycle.
QJ Motor SRK 600RC Verdict
The QJ Motor SRK600RC has the right visual appeal and an inline-four engine to make itself a desirable motorcycle in the middleweight sports bike segment, where the number of inline-four offerings is already falling. Keeping a few shortcomings aside, the SRK600RC is a decent package for what it offers.
