Recent Updates of GT128
The GT128 is regarded as one of the most premium mopeds in the company’s lineup. It is perfect for buyers who are looking for a moped but with an added dash of sportiness. Powering it is a 130cc four-stroke, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine making a maximum power of 9.9 PS and a peak torque of 10.7 Nm. On papers, it might seem a bit underpowered, but due to its low kerb weight of 120 kg, the mill feels smooth and quick. The scooter feels sure-footed thanks to the telescopic forks at the front and trailing swing with titled single chock at the rear. The disc brakes at both ends provide enough stopping power for urban riders. The GT128 also gets a lockable ignition keyhole, street riding mode, analog dials for speedometer, fuel gauge, and odometer adding to its premium appeal. Included in the list of its competitors are Yamaha Lagenda 115Z, Honda Future Fi, Honda EX5, and Honda Wave Dash.

Modenas GT128 Review 2024
The most premium of all the mopeds from Modenas on sale, the GT128 has a sporty appeal to it, which is primarily aimed at people who want the simplicity of a moped with an added dash of sportiness of a performance-oriented scooter. With a sporty design and the most powerful engine among all the mopeds from Modenas, the GT128 is on sale in two color options – Red with Black and Blue with White.
Modenas GT128 Design
Compared to all the other mopeds from Modenas, the GT128 adorns a sporty design which looks proportionate and is pleasing to eyes. While it looks as if it is designed to impress the teenagers and youngsters the most, the overall larger dimensions of the GT128 give it a larger visual appeal as well.
The frontal stance of the Modenas GT128 looks unique, thanks to the insect eye shaped twin headlamps positioned on the handlebar cowl. The apron looks short when viewed head on, with the angular clear lens indicators placed on its lower portion. The high mounted front fender gives the GT128 a tall stance which complements with its lean and sporty design.
When viewed from the sides, the Modenas GT128 looks edgy, thanks to the large flanks of the front apron on the side, which extends all the way down towards the engine and partially hides it. While this side portion of the bodywork looks aggressive with pointy ends at the bottom, the side body panels below the seat have a basic design, the simplicity of which hides beneath the loud graphics. Even the five spoke grey alloy wheels and exhaust pipe look basic and don’t go well with the overall design.
Compared to the front design, the Modenas GT128 has a contradicting basic design at the rear, with a very small tail lamp assembly. What in addition feels contrary to the overall sporty styling of the GT128 is its instrument console design, which has a very basic appeal to it, and houses only simple analog dials for speedometer, odometer and fuel gauge. Being the flagship moped from Modenas, the GT128 could have been equipped with a couple of premium features, and the moped only comes with a lockable ignition keyhole as a prominent safety feature.
GT128 Ride & Handling
Contrary to its sporty body design, the Modenas GT128 has very simple underbody mechanicals and sits on a pipe backbone frame shared with its other moped siblings from the same maker. With telescopic forks at the front and trailing swing with tilted single chock at the rear, the Modenas GT128 feels sure-footed, the majority of credits for which goes to its set of 14-inch wheels as well. The braking setup of the GT128 has been shared with the Dinamik, with disc brakes at both the ends providing it more than enough stopping power for your daily urban rides.
Modenas GT128 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Modenas GT128 is not the biggest moped from the company only in terms of visual appeal, it also has the most powerful engine of the range. Powering the GT128 is a four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 130cc engine, which is coupled to a 4-speed gearbox and churns out a maximum power output of 9.9PS and a peak torque output of 10.7Nm. Given the dimensions of the engine, it seems underpowered on paper, however, thanks to the low kerb weight of 102kgs, the engine feels decently quick on the go.
GT128 Braking & Safety
Apart from the presence of disc brakes at both the ends, the Modenas GT128 also features a lockable ignition keyhole, which is a premium feature among the Modenas range of mopeds.
Modenas GT128 Verdict
Among all the mopeds from Modenas, the GT128 feels the most properly designed and built with a sense of modernity and premium appeal to it. While it also feels a bit dated at a couple of places like instrument console and tail end design, it still looks modern and edgy enough to get a second glance for sure. Also, thanks to its light weighted character, the engine feels powerful and enticing, and at the same time, it feels agile despite all the heavy bodywork it has adorned.
