Honda CBR500R

The Honda CBR500R comes with an aggressive design which makes it sporty. It comes with a bright and futuristic LED headlight along with a taillight that makes the overall design a bit more aggressive.

The two-wheeler comes with a large fuel tank of 16.7-litre with a built-in cover that makes the refuelling of the bike super quick and easy. The information console has a fully digital setup of the fuel gauge, odometer, and speedometer. The bike gets the split-designed seats that add to the sporty appeal. It rides on 17-inch wheels where the front is wrapped in 120 mm tubeless tyres while the rear wheel gets thicker 160 mm rubber.

The two-wheeler comes with a seat height of 789 mm, which clears the fact that it will be a good option for the riders of all heights. Getting a firm foot on the ground is very easy. It is built with a kerb weight of 195 kg. It has 140 mm of ground clearance.

The Honda CBR500R is a nice sports bike to ride, especially on the highways. The engine is very responsive and the power delivery at low RPMs is amazing, especially the torque punch. That said, the mid and high range of the engine rev manages to keep things stable.

Coming to the suspension, the two-wheeler gets a 41 mm telescopic fork up front with preload adjuster, while at the rear, a Prolink suspension, with nine level adjustable monoshock is offered. Both of them make the riding soft and comfortable, but not cushiony, for both pillion and the riders.

The Honda CBR500R features a liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that provides quite a good performance. The 471cc is good enough to churn out a maximum of 49.6 hp power along with a peak torque of 44 Nm. Both the maximum power and the peak torque comes at a rev range of 8,500 rpm and 7,000 rpm respectively. The drive is sent to the wheel via a six-speed manual gearbox.

The parallel-twin DOHC engine is capable of performing well. It is aided by a new transmission system and has the PGM-FI injectors as well.

Coming to the braking, the Honda CBR500R comes with dual disc brakes to make a good stopping power. The front wheel is stopped by a 320 mm hydraulic disc with twin-piston calliper, while the rear gets a 240 mm hydraulic unit which has the single piston calliper. Both of them gets the support of the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System). It helps of avoiding the locking of the brakes all of a sudden while application at a high speed.

The CBR500R gets the Wave Key feature that is exclusive from the manufacturer. It reduces the chance of theft by offering a forged key. The key has a microchip embedded in it which contains a new feature named Honda Ignition Security System (H.I.S.S). The microchip also contains a password and the bike cannot be unlocked if the password does not match with the key cylinder.

The Honda CBR500R is one of the top names in sports bike segment in Malaysia. It comes with powerful features and packs in a host of other amazing aspects. The LED headlamp taillight make the design a bit more aggressive.

Speaking of the pricing, the two-wheeler has a starting price tag of around RM 30,000, which brings it to the league of the Kawasaki Ninja 650. However, it gets optional ABS while the Kawasaki model gets it as a standard fitment.
