Honda CB750 Review 2024

The Honda CB750 Hornet is a new breed of naked roadster from Honda that belongs to the new-generation Hornet series of motorcycles from Honda and is a clear departure from the neo-retro CB series of motorcycles. Positioned between the CB500 Hornet and CB1000 Hornet, the new Honda CB750 Hornet is a premium middleweight naked roadster from Honda with one of the most powerful parallel-twin engines from the brand at the moment. The Honda CB750 Hornet is on sale in Malaysia with three colour options – Pearl Glare White, Graphite Black, and Mat Goldfinch Yellow.

Honda CB750 Design

Honda has followed a safe approach while designing the CB750 Hornet, which looks aggressive but a bit old-school too. It looks inspired by the CB roadsters from Honda from the past with angular body panels all around. However, despite having angular-styled panels, the CB750 lacks the boldness bit for a motorcycle belonging to its segment and price.

At the front, the Honda CB750 Hornet has a rakish front cowl, which gets aggressive-looking creases around the raked all-LED headlamp. This dual-tone cowl has LED turn indicators attached to its upper corners, while missing out on a proper cowl at the top of it, ahead of the instrument console. The upper halves of the front forks and exposed trellis frame on the side are finished in a theme of red in the White and Black colour schemes and silver in the Yellow colour scheme.

Speaking of the side profile, the Honda CB750 Hornet has a sporty-looking fuel tank with pointy triangular fuel tank extensions on the side that make the side profile look muscular. The engine and alloy wheels of the CB750 Hornet feature a blacked-out theme, while the exhaust pipe, which misses out on underbody protection below the engine, has a satin silver theme for the upper shield and tip.

The tail section of the Honda CB750 Hornet also looks muscular with the dual-tone rear panels below the split seat arrangement that flows towards the compact LED tail lamp. Coming to the rider’s cockpit of the Honda CB750 Hornet, there is a modern-looking 5-inch full-TFT instrument console that sits within a large panel with tapered edges all around. Packing in all essentials like a speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, odometer, trip meters, gear indicator, and clock, this instrument console has multiple display modes as per the riding mode selected.

CB750 Ride & Handling

The Honda CB750 Hornet matches the aggression of its design in the way it handles too, with the suspension setup tuned for a sporty riding experience. This naked roadster gets a 41mm separate functioning upside-down telescopic fork with 130mm travel at the front and a pro-link swingarm with a mono-shock that has 150mm travel at the rear. The motorcycle has 10-spoke black alloy wheels with a 120/70 ZR17 tyre at the front and a 160/60 ZR17 tyre at the rear. For braking, this naked roadster has dual 296mm disc brakes at the front and a single 240mm disc brake at the rear.

Honda CB750 Braking & Safety

With the CB750 Hornet, Honda has followed its European rivals by equipping it with state-of-the-art riding aids and electronics. Apart from having essentials like dual-channel ABS, traction control and an assist and slipper clutch, the Honda CB750 Hornet also has four riding modes – Standard, Sport, Rain and Custom, wheelie control and adjustable engine braking.

CB750 Verdict

While Honda might have followed a safe approach with the design of the CB750 Hornet, which looks a bit conventional, it still has some aggression in the way it looks. And that sense of aggression amplifies in the way it performs and handles, without much intimidation.
