Ducati Scrambler 1100 Review 2024

The Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro is the range-topping motorcycle in the Scrambler lineup of motorcycles from Ducati. This simple-looking fun to ride motorcycle retains all the ethos of the first-generation Scrambler Icon, but with a bigger engine, more advanced mechanicals and more aesthetic features. The Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro is available in India in a single shade of black.

Ducati Scrambler 1100 Design

If you think that the Scrambler Icon is a simple-looking motorcycle in the very first place, the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro takes that same recipe but adds a flavour of extroversion. The motorcycle looks focused on a big-capacity scrambler with a hint of the roadster, and that makes it an attention grabber.

At the front, Ducati has kept things simple for the Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro with a rounded halogen headlamp, which is surrounded by a rounded daytime running LED. While the golden finish for the front telescopic forks grabs all the attention, the motorcycle also gets a chopped-off front fender, which is placed slightly higher.

The fuel tank of the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro is long and sleek and just goes so well with the otherwise minimalist design of the motorcycle. This fuel tank bears the 1100 decals all over it, thus making it look bold. Beneath this fuel tank, the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro comes packed with a huge L-twin engine and twin exhaust pipes coming out in a curved fashion. Unlike the Scrambler Icon, the exhaust pipes here flow upward and are positioned below the pillion seat on the right. The motorcycle gets the same black set of alloy wheels and the long and chunky-looking seat, which here is a brown-coloured unit.

At the back, the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro has a very minimalist look, with a small LED tail lamp nestled between the seat and the chopped and tiny rear fender. Like the smaller Scrambler Icon, this motorcycle also gets a separate rear tyre hugger. What makes the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro look more purposeful is the compact handlebar, which has angular short bars to make the riding experience sportier.

Behind this compact handlebar, there is an offset fully-digital instrument console consisting of two housings. The horizontal housing displays the speedometer and gear indicator, while the rounded housing shows the tachometer, fuel gauge, clock, odometer, trip meters and other warning lights. This compact handlebar also comes armed with rounded rear view mirrors on its ends, like a traditional café racer.

Scrambler 1100 Ride & Handling

The Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro might not be having as premium mechanical hardware as some other range-topping siblings, but the overall setup gets the job done. The Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro comes equipped with fully-adjustable 48mm upside-down hydraulic telescopic forks from Ohlins at the front and pre-load and rebound adjustable mono-shock from Ohlins at the rear. For braking, the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro comes with dual 320mm discs at the front and a single 245mm disc at the rear.

Ducati Scrambler 1100 Engine & Fuel Consumption

The Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro sources its power from a four-stroke, air-cooled, L-twin, Desmodromic, 1079cc engine, which is the largest powertrain in the Ducati Scrambler family. This engine comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox and pumps out a maximum power output of 86 bhp and a peak torque output of 88 Nm. While the power output feels a bit less on paper, the engine is a blast to ride in urban conditions due to the wave of torque available in the lower and midrange.

Scrambler 1100 Braking & Safety

It is one aspect where we feel that Ducati could have paid an extra effort, as the motorcycle only gets a dual-channel ABS, three riding modes and traction control.

Ducati Scrambler 1100 Verdict

The Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro is a range-topping scrambler in every sense, thanks to its potent and impressively torquey engine. It, along with the lean and tall stance of the motorcycle, the light-weighted chassis and the sport-tuned suspension setup, makes up for a lively riding experience, especially in urban conditions.
