Ducati Desert X

Desert-X from Ducat is the first modern two-wheeler in its product line designed solely for an off-road journey. Its chassis features a 21" front wheel, whereas the rear portion is equipped with an 18" wheel, making a striking difference. Furthermore, the V-shaped, slightly slanted front shield features a printed bottom. It truly behaves like the first attraction point in the entire frame. 

The bike is the true manifestation of aerodynamics and ergonomics, as proven by its sleek and slender frame. Its seat height is roughly 875 mm, with a broad handlebar space allowing riders to maneuver the bike easily on any surface conditions. Apart from this, its wheelbase is 1608 mm, a pretty impressive number given that the bike is designed to exhibit maximum stability at any speed. 

Ducati has leveraged technology to offer riders a heightened experience of off-beat surfaces. Its console is fully digital, with different metric systems that allow anyone to take a quick look. On top of everything, the bike has a tubular steel trellis frame made from steel, which is why it is the epitome of rigidity and strength.

Ducati has paid special attention to the comfort of Desert-X. Multiple features add to the overall comfort statement, whether it is the ergonomic design or the increased seat height. In other words, riders can cruise along any road in Malaysia and won't even complain about a sore back or stiff muscles. 

The two-wheeler features a USD fork suspension or upside-down suspension at the front. It allows the frame to stay safe from vibrations and bounciness, especially when traveling on a non-uniform surface. The rear end is equipped with a mono-shock suspension to accentuate the comfort. Although it has a single tubular shock absorber, it can absorb many vibrations and prevent them from getting translated across the frame. 

One of the main attractive features of the Ducati Desert-X is the availability of 6 different riding modes. These can be selected quickly through the Cruise Control feature, allowing riders to switch from a smooth to a rough ride in seconds. Out of these, Rally and Enduro riding modes are solely configured for off-beat roads. While the bike is known to deliver outstanding performance, its weight is significantly reduced owing to the engine. 

Desert-X comes with an L-Twin liquid-cooled engine having four valves. Its displacement capacity of 937cc provides a high amount of power to trigger the combustion cycle. Besides, it also reduces fuel consumption, ensuring the 21 L fuel tank can continue to provide energy for the longest possible time. One of the key features of Desert-X is its excellent power and torque deliverability. At 6500 rpm, it can produce a maximum torque of 92 Nm, while at 9250 rpm, it delivers a maximum power of 110 hp. So, it’s evident that the bike is a powerhouse once it hits the road. 

In Desert-X, the front and rear ends are equipped with disc brakes. It is known for its excellent braking power, allowing riders to drive safely on busy city roads or uneven mountain trails. Furthermore, the brake discs don't need a lot of maintenance, which is one of the many reasons why having the two-wheeler is best. 

Thanks to the ABS or anti-braking system, the wheels won't move further once the brake is engaged. So, there won't be any compromise with on-road safety. On top of everything, the traction control feature lets riders move lucidly over any surface type without much hassle. 

Ducati Desert-X is the first model in its line to be an off-road bike with two different-sized wheels. Its excellent wheelbase and seat height allow riders to become more comfortable and attain stability at higher speeds. Furthermore, the two-wheeler is designed to meet the Euro V emission standards, proving to be a next-gen automobile.
