Recent Updates of V40

Volvo’s small family hatchback, the V40 has been on sale in Malaysia for quite some time now. Last year they also launched the facelifted T4 variant of the car. The V40 is one of the most striking looking hatchbacks in the country that stands out from the others thanks to its distinctively aggressive front end and uniquely European design. The interior is as elegant as you’d expect and even more so the R-Design variants. It features ambient LED lighting, a 7” integrated multimedia display and numerous safety and driver aids. Engine options range from a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 190 hp and 300 Nm of torque to a 245 hp and 350 Nm in the T5. Transmissions also vary between the two with the T4 getting a six-speed automatic while the T5 got an eight-speed unit. Prices vary similarly with the T4 costing RM 154658 and the T5 costing RM 180888. Now, however, Volvo has discontinued the V40 in the Malaysian market. There is news suggesting that Volvo will soon replace the V40 with something more like an SUV. Volvo has also hinted that this new vehicle might be fully electric.
