Suzuki S-Cross

Introduction

The new Suzuki S-Cross is a stylish crossover which is developed by the Japanese auto maker Suzuki. It is a replacement for the Suzuki SX4. In 2012, Suzuki unveiled its S-Cross conception at the Paris Motor Show. This amazing car was launched in 2013 at the Geneva Motor Show comprising the futuristic study of a C-segment crossover. The new S-Cross will not be available in the US or Canada, as Suzuki has withdrawn this crossover from these markets, although it is made available for the customers of Malaysia.

Engine, mileage & variants

Economical, low emission and strong build quality, the new Suzuki S-Cross has received plentiful attention for its amazing performance. The light weight 1.6-litre petrol engine lets you enjoy powerful, torquey performance with great fuel economy. This engine has the capacity of producing 117 PS at 6000 rpm and a peak torque of about 156 Nm at 4400 rpm. With its efficient engine, the S-Cross takes 12.4 seconds to acquire the speed mark of 100 km/h from a halt which is not bad for a cross. Also, the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) benefits with class-leading fuel economy without any shift-shock, enabling this vehicle to delivers a fair mileage of about 16.63 km/l with CO2 emission as low as 125 g/km.

Exteriors

From the outside, this Suzuki crossover embraces a pleasant design line and styling, bringing up class elements that accentuate its overall appeal. The S-Cross shows its bold and dynamic front profile, along with rear solid stability of the vehicle. The sporty lines on its sides also flow smoothly throughout the body. The three-dimension HID headlamps with LED DRLs exudes dynamism, and the aerodynamic exterior mirrors are shaped for low drag. Also, the front fog lamps with chrome accents echo the elegance. Athletically styled 17-inch polished alloy wheels with 205/50 R17 tyre size complements the S-Cross’s extraordinary, dynamic appearance. Providing plenty of space to its occupants, this crossover comprises of dimensions measuring 4300mm x 1765 mm x 1575 mm (LxWxH), and the wheelbase of 2600 mm.

Interiors

The new Suzuki S-Cross has a well-built interior, along with many other trim features that boast of quality. The appointed panoramic double sliding sunroof offer huge opening area for its occupants. Suzuki has also provided the new S-Cross with keyless push start system that makes it easier to start. Its roomy cabin offers plentiful legroom and seats with generous contours and luxurious fabric upholstery that makes sitting in this crossover a genuine pleasure. For music streaming and navigation, this car is provided with a 7 inch touchscreen along with hi-tech audio system, comprising radio, CD and MP3 compatibility, along with DVD function, USB and Bluetooth connectivity. Further, the dual-zone automatic air conditioner, navigation system with rear view camera, adjustable steering wheel with audio control switches and paddles shifts adds to the convenience of the driver. Even with 5-people aboard, there is 440 litres of luggage space in the boot.

Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous

With high-performance technologies and top-of-the-line safety features, the new Suzuki S-Cross makes you feel confident, while driving into new territories. Its advance safety features includes ESP that automatically adjusts the engine and brakes to keep the driver in control, Hill-hold control preventing vehicle from rolling backward and 7-airbags (Front and side airbags) for extra protection. Also, its body embodies TECT concept for lightness and occupant safety. Augmenting its braking system, this crossover is fitted with ventilated disc and disc brakes for front and rear respectively. McPherson strut and torsion beam, both with coil spring leads to a decent suspension system.
