Audi A7 Sportback

Audi is offering an all-black theme for the cabin of the A7 Sportback, which comes with Valcona leather upholstery with embossed “S” on the seat headrests. The cabin looks high-tech with the presence of high-definition screens for the Audi virtual cockpit, Audi smartphone interface and touchscreen panel for the multi-zone automatic climate control on the lower centre console.

The Audi A7 Sportback has a sports-contoured, leather-wrapped, flat-bottomed multi-functional steering wheel, behind which sits the Audi virtual cockpit with multiple configurable display modes. The entire centre console is slightly tilted towards the driver's side, with the asymmetric upper centre console extending a central layer towards the co-passenger side of the dashboard. The tunnel between the front seats also accommodates a thick-looking panel for the transmission lever, drive mode selector and electronic parking brake.

The cabin of the Audi A7 Sportback also comes bestowed with a panoramic sunroof, premium Bang & Olufsen audio system, 12-way power-adjustable front seats with memory function for the driver’s seat, head-up display and S Line sports package with exclusive trim finishes. However, for its high price, we would love to see more features on board the A7 Sportback.

The Audi A7 Sportback has always remained a head turner, for it combines the sleek and sharp lines of traditional Audi sedans with the dramatic-looking sloping roofline of a modern coupe. This four-door coupe has a great-looking low-slung stance, giving it a planted look along with wide-looking front and rear ends.

The front profile of the Audi A7 Sportback has a sharp-looking hexagonal grille with chrome surrounds and horizontal inserts within it. The trapezoidal headlamps placed beside the upper edges of the front grille are HD Matrix LED headlights, which have dynamic lighting patterns for the main headlamps and turn indicators. The front bumper also looks sportier with the aggressive-looking air curtains on the sides and central air dam.

It is the side profile where the Audi A7 Sportback starts projecting its individualistic appeal, thanks to the sloping roofline towards the rear and frameless doors. The Audi A7 Sportback has a five-spoke matte titanium look for the 20-inch wheels, with the side profile also getting chrome surrounds for the window panels and door-mounted rearview mirrors.

At the back too, the Audi A7 Sportback has a great-looking stance with wide-stretched tail lamp assembly, which houses combination LED tail lamps on the sides and an LED connecting bar running between them. This entire tail lamp assembly also features a dynamic lighting pattern, which is a visual treat to the eyes. More chrome finish can be seen over the rear bumper and for the exhaust tip surrounds, with the car also coming with an S Line exterior package as standard.

This fully-loaded Audi A7 Sportback S Line is being provided with Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive package as standard, which makes the car feel as dynamic to drive as it looks. The well-tuned steering and suspension setup – multi-link at front and rear – are neither too soft, nor too stiff, making it a finely-tuned balance.

The only powertrain option offered in the Malaysia-spec Audi A7 Sportback is a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine, which is paired with a 7-speed S Tronic automatic transmission. The engine produces a maximum power output of 340 PS, while its peak torque output is rated at 500 Nm. Audi claims a fuel efficiency of 13.7 kmpl for the A7 Sportback.

For its price, the safety equipment list of the Audi A7 Sportback is quite justifiable, with the four-door coupe getting premium safety features like Audi Pre-sense front and rear, adaptive cruise control with speed limiter, efficiency assist, swerve assist and turn assist, lane changing warning, exit warning system, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, tyre pressure monitoring system, and six airbags.

Besides being a style statement with exclusives like frameless doors and a sloping coupe roofline, the Audi A7 Sportback offers a traditional sedan experience in its driving appeal and performance, which only gets better with the high-quality interior finish and premium features on offer.
